STAND UP AND SHOUT FOR RONNIE JAMES DIO’S BIRTHDAY, the star-studded global virtual concert set for Saturday, July 10 from Rolling Live Studios, has continued to add to the lineup of musical talent coming together for one-of-a-kind performances, artist interviews and special birthday messages all for a good cause. The event, hosted on rollinglivestudios.com, begins at 2:00PM Pacific time (PDT), benefiting The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund (www.diocancerfund.org), founded in memory of the late heavy metal icon who was the voice of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and DIO before losing his battle with gastric cancer in 2010.

Tickets are now available for the VIP After Party the next day, Sunday, July 11, also at 2PM Pacific time (PDT).

The global fundraiser is bringing together celebrities and fans all over the world to honor Ronnie James Dio’s undeniable impact both on and off the stage. Rounding out the already enviable lineup are Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell) and Alice Cooper.

Throughout his career, Ronnie James Dio was a passionate supporter and contributor to charitable work and numerous animal charities. He was an artist who was not only well respected for his talent, but also admired and loved by his peers and fans worldwide, some of which included renowned celebrities, musicians, and prominent individuals from all walks of life.

The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund (www.diocancerfund.org), dedicated to cancer prevention, research and education, has raised over $2 million in its history. The organization’s last in-person event was its 10th Anniversary Gala held at the Avalon in Hollywood in February, 2020. Its annual RIDE FOR RONNIE Motorcycle Ride and Concert and BOWL FOR RONNIE Celebrity Bowling Tournament have been temporarily suspended as the result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable fund formed in honor of the legendary Ronnie James Dio, who lost his life to stomach cancer on May 16, 2010. Cancer is a deadly disease that robs families of loved ones, and the Dio Cancer Fund is dedicated to support cancer prevention research, raise awareness and educate the public with the focus that early detection and prevention saves lives.

DIO’s Studio Album Collection: 1996-2004 Remastered Reissues Available Today

“Angry Machines,” Magica,” “Killing The Dragon” and “Master Of the Moon” Include

Rare Live and Studio Bonus Tracks

DIO’s 1996-2004 studio albums – Angry Machines (1996), Magica (2000), Killing the Dragon (2002), and Master of the Moon (2004) – are available today in newly remastered versions, featuring rare and never before released live and studio bonus tracks via BMG.

The albums were remastered by longtime DIO collaborator Wyn Davis with updated artwork from frequent DIO art director Marc Sasso.

“BMG has done such and amazing job pairing the studio albums with the bonus live recordings, AND the lenticular vinyl records look amazing,” says Niji Entertainment Group Inc. President and Owner Wendy Dio. “I am very proud to be working together with them.”

Long out of print on vinyl, the 180-gram black vinyl includes the original tracklistings and is available as a Limited Edition first run with an LP-sized Lenticular album art print. As a special bonus, the Magica 2-LP also contains a 7” single featuring “Electra,” the only known completed track from the planned Magica 2 album.

The CD versions of each album have also been long out of print globally. These newly remastered deluxe versions are showcased in mediabook packaging along with a second disc featuring rare and unreleased bonus material. In addition to rare studio tracks “Electra” (included on Magica) and “Prisoner of Paradise” (included on Master of the Moon), each bonus disc includes a selection of both rare or never before released live tracks from the accompanying tour for each studio release.

All bonus tracks are also available on the streaming/digital versions.

Angry Machines

Originally released in 1996 and featuring the line-up of Ronnie James Dio (Vocals), Tracy G (Guitars), Jeff Pilson (Bass), Vinny Appice (Drums) and Scott Warren (Keyboards), the CD/digital version features 12 bonus tracks recorded live on the Angry Machines tour in 1997.

“I feel that the ‘II’ album displays a lot more confidence and ambition than ‘Heavy Crown.’ We’ve played a lot of live shows over the last 3 years and I think that we’ve really grown as a band and that’s reflected in the song writing and playing on this record. We’re a band at the top of our game,” says Vivian Campbell when asked to comment about the release of “II.”

Bassist Phil Soussan adds, “I feel very proud and very pleased with what we have done on ‘II.’ Respecting the creative roots of the DIO nucleus, it has taken from that classic style and shot it into a trajectory to create a valid contender in today’s music. The album has universal appeal on the surface and depth where needed. Most of all I am thrilled about how the writing of this album was truly a collaboration between all of us and certainly nothing that could have been done any other way. This album makes a statement that LIL can be seen as an original band in its own right.”

Last In Line was formed in 2011, when Vinny Appice, Jimmy Bain, and Vivian Campbell, (Ronnie James Dio’s co-conspirators and co-writers on the “Holy Diver”, “Last In Line” – the album from which they took their name, and “Sacred Heart” albums) teamed up with esteemed vocalist Andrew Freeman. The debut album “Heavy Crown” was released in February 2016, landing at #1 on the Billboard Heat-Seekers Chart. Initially, the release had been preceded by tragedy when bassist Jimmy Bain unexpectedly passed away at the age of 68 on January 23, 2016. Last In Line, honoring what they knew would be Bain’s wish to keep the band moving, brought in renowned bassist Phil Soussan (ex-Ozzy Osbourne) and committed to sustained touring in support of the album, hitting festivals, headlining clubs, and sharing the stage with metal luminaries such as Saxon and Megadeth.

In late 2017, the band gathered in L.A. to start the recording of the second album, which was produced by the band members and Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, The End Machine, ex-Dokken), who also produced the debut album. Having really gelled as a band while touring in support of the debut album, the songwriting came readily to the members. They’ve created a record that shows a big progression in sound, while immediately being recognizable as Last In Line thanks to Vinny Appice’s rhythms, thunderous bass from Soussan, amazing vocals from Andrew Freeman, and the roaring guitars of Vivian Campbell.

The Hall of Heavy Metal History Announces Final Inductees List for 2019 Metal Hall of Fame Gala

To be Awarded at the Annual Metal Hall of Fame Gala, Taking Place January 23, 2019 @ Marriott Delta Garden Grove, Anaheim, CA

The annual Hall of Heavy Metal History‘s Metal Hall of Fame Gala will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Marriott Delta Garden Grove in Anaheim, CA. The event will be hosted by iconic television, radio personality and heavy metal champion Eddie Trunk, and will feature appearances by heavy metal greats of today and years past. The Metal Hall of Fame Gala is quickly solidifying itself as the most important night in rock and metal!

The event will feature performances by legendary drummers and Hall of Heavy Metal History inductees Carmine Appice and Vinny Appice, as well as a performance by hard rock/punk icon Jean Beauvoir. Los Angeles heavy rock/metal group Budderside will open the show.

The event will also feature the premiere/free screening of Cleopatra Entertainment’s new film Band vs. Brand before the gala begins. Several celebrities from the film will be present at the screening.

Please note event times have changed: Doors open at 4:30 PM, and a red carpet will take place from 5:00-7:00 PM. The free screening of Band vs. Brand will take place from 7:00-8:00 PM, and the gala/induction ceremony will begin at 8:00 PM with Budderside‘s performance.

2019 inductee Bob Daisley adds, “I’m very pleased and feel honored to be inducted into the Hall of Heavy Metal History after all these years. I’m pleased for Lee Kerslake too. He’s been a major player in the genre. Thank you to John Sykes for accepting our awards, I’m grateful and honored to have you do it.”

2019 Hall of Heavy Metal History inductee Mike Portnoy says, “It is my honor to be inducted into the Hall of Heavy Metal History this year!
