Louisville, KY – It’s about to get LOUD in Louisville as the long-running, fan favorite festival Louder Than Life returns for its 10th year in 2024! Producers Danny Wimmer Presents – one of the largest independent promoters in the U.S. – pulled out all the stops to celebrate a decade of Louder Than Life, North America’s Largest Rock Festival, including the mighty return of thrash gods Slayer to the stage. In addition to their headlining performance, Loudmouths can also look forward to metal heavyweights Mötley Crüe, Slipknot and Korn closing out additional nights of the four-day event, which returns to its home at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY September 26, 27, 28 & 29, 2024.

Five full stages will keep the destination event amped up all weekend, welcoming additional performances from Disturbed, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch, Evanescence, Falling in Reverse, Breaking Benjamin, The Offspring, Staind, Till Lindemann, Chevelle, Dropkick Murphys, Halestorm, Gojira, Seether, In This Moment, Anthrax, Sum 41, Mastodon, Tom Morello, and many more. Shinedown continues to tour behind their outstanding 7th album ‘Planet Zero’. “The Revolutions Live Tour” 2023 currently has the up-and-coming Spiritbox and long-time friends Papa Roach on board, making for an incredible show from beginning to end.

On September 24, 2023, during a chilly, rainy Sunday evening, the tour set up shop inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The stage reached out almost to center ice, with a packed floor area all around 3 sides and fans filling seats from the boards all the way to the top of the arena.

After being sufficiently “warmed up” by Spiritbox and blown away by Papa Roach, the crowd was ready for more. A Shinedown show is not just a concert. It is an action movie, group therapy and spiritual revival all wrapped up together and delivered with emotions and explosions.

Brent Smith, Barry Kerch, Zach Myers and Eric Bass have carefully formulated an unstoppable movement. Their songs are powerful, even when they are quiet. Their lyrics are inspirational and aspirational. They have spent 2 decades making real connections with people, collecting new fans every step of the way. Their production value and stage craft borrow from all genres of entertainment, delivering everything you could want from a concert and more.

This tour features a “flying” piano, which drops from the rafters when needed, and disappears after being played brilliantly by Eric Bass. Every type of pyro is deployed to accentuate the heavy songs. Despite all of the flair, the most lasting moments happen with acoustic guitars, crowd sing-alongs, and encouraging words from Brent Smith. Everyone is included, and all are invited, and that is truly how it feels. Whether you have been around for 20 years, or came on board yesterday, the deep bonds of friendship are felt by all, and are strongly encouraged by this group of wonderful human beings.

The set list (pictured below) included so many incredible songs which produced magical moments. At this point, Shinedown has too many hit songs and deep cuts, and you could easily make a completely different playlist which would be just as special. What this means is that you should never pass up any opportunity you get to witness this band performing live.

Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2023 Announces First 100 Artists Including Pantera, Shinedown, Limp Bizkit, Evanescence first appeared on Game On Media.

The 5^th annual Blue Ridge Rock Festival took place in Alton, Virginia on September 8 – 11, 2022. Day one was headlined by Ghost, with notable support coming from a wide spectrum of artists, including Ice Cube, Anthrax, Daughtry, Jelly Roll, In This Moment, Stone Temple Pilots and Nothing More.

The massive 4 day rock music festival tried to recover from the logistical nightmares of 2021 by moving to a new site near the Virginia International Raceway. While the venue was a slight improvement over the remote park used last year, I never saw any racetrack, facilities or parking lots.

The parking was over 5 miles from the event, and there did not seem to be nearly enough buses. Fans could be seen waiting in massive lines to leave the parking field, to enter the venue, and to return to their vehicles after the show. The third and fourth stages were miles from the side-by-side main stages, up and down big hills which left little time to move between sections and actually see all of the bands.

Despite all of the hardships and difficulties, fans were excited to see an incredible lineup, representing every genre of rock and roll. The overall production and sound were on point. The only problem with such an extensive collection of bands was deciding which ones to see, and which sadly had to be missed. While the two main stages alternated acts, it was a long walk to the other side, and making that trek meant missing someone else.

I definitely missed more acts than I saw. The highlights of the day for me were Ghost, Anthrax, Ice Cube, Daughtry, Nothing More, Spiritbox, Fire From The Gods and a rare reunion show from Shadows Fall. Blue Ridge Rock Festival definitely goes out of their way to deliver special shows, such as reunion shows and rare appearances.

I managed to capture photographs of the aforementioned highlights, as well as A Skylit Drive, Unearth, Vampires Everywhere, Pop Evil, Bad Wolves, and In This Moment.

I would have loved to see other bands, but there are just too many stages and too many bands. Among the bands I would have loved to experience were Islander, Palisades, Red, Brand Of Sacrifice, Hawthorne Heights, Hinder, We Came As Romans, Cannibal Corpse, Sleeping With Sirens, Stone Temple Pilots and Jelly Roll.

It may have been better to book fewer artists, and invest more money into supporting the fans, including more buses, more facilities and more showers for the campers. BRRF bills itself as being “Fan-Driven”, so hopefully they will continue to listen to, and support, their dedicated fans.

Tickets and campsites are already selling well for next year, proving that die hard metal fans will endure anything to experience the power of live music, and the feeling of connecting with other people who are just as mental about metal as they are. After getting its start with 2 events in Concord, Virginia, followed up by the Covid-delayed logistical nightmare of last year’s massive 4 day event in Danville, Virginia, the Blue Ridge Rock Festival is finally getting a new home which promises to deliver on its promise as America’s premier fan-driven rock and roll experience.

This year’s event will take place over the extended weekend of September 8 – September 11, 2022. The venue hosting this event is the world-class road racing track Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia. Fans who endured the troubles of the past in order to witness the greatest collection of live rock and roll, and are ready to come back for more, will be rewarded with a location that is set up for large crowds, camping and entertainment.

Despite all of the issues last fall, the musical performances and production were top notch. The festival took on a partner, changed to a better venue and continues to ask fans to help choose the artists who will perform at the 2022 edition.

Welcome To Rockville will feature more than 75 music acts over four days, with performances on four stages, along with award-winning spirits, craft beer, partner activations and the best food Daytona Beach has to offer.

Single day and weekend general admission and VIP passes for Welcome To Rockville are on sale now. Festivalgoers are encouraged to buy early and save as pass prices increase in throughout the coming months based on level quantities.  A limited number of specially priced tickets for military personnel are on sale now via GovX.

Welcome To Rockville campers get the ultimate experience, spending five days on the festival field right in the middle of all the action and with the quickest access to all the stages. Amenities include indoor restrooms and showers, in and out privileges, and a general store for supplies. A limited number of Weekend Camping Packages are available for both car and tent and RVs. Admission to the festival is not included in Weekend Camping Packages and must be purchased separately.

Welcome To Rockville VIP pass holders will receive a commemorative VIP laminate and wristband, dedicated entrance lanes into the festival, entrance into VIP areas, and access to dedicated viewing areas throughout the festival. The VIP section boasts shaded hang areas with dedicated bars, comfortable furniture, audio and video streams of the main stages, a dedicated merchandise stand, dedicated locker rental with charging capabilities, air conditioned and flushable restrooms, and premium food and drink offerings (for additional purchase).

The Daytona Owners Club VIP option is new in 2022. As a Welcome To Rockville “owner,” those choosing this pass option will truly be living like a ROCK STAR. In addition to being a festival VIP, Daytona Owners Club pass-holders will also receive exclusive access to an air-conditioned lounge with live audio and video of the main stages, a shaded viewing deck, unlimited complimentary drinks at dedicated bars throughout the Owners Club, complimentary hors d’oeuvres during lunch and dinner hours, dedicated WiFi, access to a main stage viewing area, owner locker rental with charging capabilities, dedicated air-conditioned, flushable bathrooms and concierge staff.  Current pass holders will have first rights to sign up for the waitlist, which is open now.  The Daytona Owners Club will go on sale to the public after the exclusive pass holder pre-sale, which is happening the week of December 13.

Festival attendees will enjoy a variety of onsite food and beverage experiences, as well as sponsor activations that celebrate the bourbon culture and culinary heritage of this unique American city.
