Gimme Radio Launches Weekly Metal Chart first appeared on Game On Media.

The inaugural Megadeth’s MegaCruise set sail from Los Angeles, California to San Diego and Mexico in October 2019. When Dave Mustaine of Megadeth was diagnosed with cancer and unable to perform on the MegaCruise, Lamb Of God was tapped to replace them in the lineup.

Lead vocalist Randy Blythe is one of the most intense frontmen in rock. Bassist John Campbell and drummer Art Cruz kept the groove tight, allowing guitarists Willie Adler and Mark Morton to thrash over it.

It is certainly unexpected to witness the aggressiveness of Lamb Of God inside a beautiful theater on a cruise ship, but that is precisely what makes MegaCruise such a special experience.

“All I Had to Lose” featuring Mark Morales, the first single from Lamb of God guitarist MARK MORTON’s second solo offering, entitled Ether, is available today via iTunes HERE. Listen to the track, which features the Sons of Texas vocalist: “’All I Had To Lose’ is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written,” MORTON says. “Mark Morales’ incredible vocal performance really brought it to life and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I’m so grateful to get the opportunity to stretch out stylistically and appreciate everyone who’s given this stuff a listen!” Ether, a primarily acoustic five-song EP, is scheduled for release on January 17 via Rise Records. As with last year’s solo debut, Anesthetic, the guitarist enlisted the talents of various musicians and vocalists to bring his songs to life. In addition to Morales, who regularly tours as part of MORTON’s live band, Ether features appearances by Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage, Light the Torch), John Carbone (Moon Tooth). Lamb of God Guitarist Mark Morton Reveals First Single from Solo EP “Ether” first appeared on Game On Media.

Queensrÿche played two intense pool deck shows on the MegaCruise in October 2019. New drummer Casey Grillo is a great fit, whether playing songs from the recent outstanding Todd LaTorre-fronted albums or classics from the band’s first decade. LaTorre was the MegaCruise MVP, tearing through Queensrÿche sets, drumming with Frank Bello and David Ellefson, and guest singing with other bands. Bassist Eddie Jackson is a stud musically and vocally. Guitarist Michael “Whip” Wilton and Parker Lundgren are shredding machines.

One of their sets was an opportunity to learn that when the ship’s Captain is making announcements, the band’s PA system is cut off. Three times the sound cut out for 30 seconds, which turned out to be the crew looking for Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, who was being delayed by Mexican customs (he later apologized during his set). The band played on, with the crowd screaming out the vocals until the sound kicked back in. It was certainly a show to remember.
