Shinedown continues to tour behind their outstanding 7th album ‘Planet Zero’. “The Revolutions Live Tour” 2023 currently has the up-and-coming Spiritbox and long-time friends Papa Roach on board, making for an incredible show from beginning to end.

On September 24, 2023, during a chilly, rainy Sunday evening, the tour set up shop inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The stage reached out almost to center ice, with a packed floor area all around 3 sides and fans filling seats from the boards all the way to the top of the arena.

After being sufficiently “warmed up” by Spiritbox and blown away by Papa Roach, the crowd was ready for more. A Shinedown show is not just a concert. It is an action movie, group therapy and spiritual revival all wrapped up together and delivered with emotions and explosions.

Brent Smith, Barry Kerch, Zach Myers and Eric Bass have carefully formulated an unstoppable movement. Their songs are powerful, even when they are quiet. Their lyrics are inspirational and aspirational. They have spent 2 decades making real connections with people, collecting new fans every step of the way. Their production value and stage craft borrow from all genres of entertainment, delivering everything you could want from a concert and more.

This tour features a “flying” piano, which drops from the rafters when needed, and disappears after being played brilliantly by Eric Bass. Every type of pyro is deployed to accentuate the heavy songs. Despite all of the flair, the most lasting moments happen with acoustic guitars, crowd sing-alongs, and encouraging words from Brent Smith. Everyone is included, and all are invited, and that is truly how it feels. Whether you have been around for 20 years, or came on board yesterday, the deep bonds of friendship are felt by all, and are strongly encouraged by this group of wonderful human beings.

The set list (pictured below) included so many incredible songs which produced magical moments. At this point, Shinedown has too many hit songs and deep cuts, and you could easily make a completely different playlist which would be just as special. What this means is that you should never pass up any opportunity you get to witness this band performing live.

“One of the most energetic live acts on the rock circuit” – BILLBOARD

Multi-GRAMMY-nominated rock act NOTHING MORE released their new single “TIRED OF WINNING” via Better Noise Music, which serves as the first official radio single from their long-awaited new studio album. The song is a high-energy rock anthem unapologetically confronting the state of humanity with lyrics like “ So will we steer this ship straight through the void / Or turn on ourselves and die out/ Are you tired of winning? / Cuz it’s already over.” “TIRED OF WINNING” is now available to download or stream across platforms HERE. The official music video for the track also premiered today, giving fans thought-provoking, sci-fi inspired visuals that amplify the poignant lyrics. WATCH HERE.

For more background on “TIRED OF WINNING,” the band’s frontman Jonny Hawkins gives context behind the song’s origin in the below Q&A.

Last month, the band gave fans the first official preview of the new album by dropping a new song and music video titled “TURN IT UP LIKE (Stand in the Fire).” Co-written by all four band members, the song is a sonic rejection of the divisive, digitally-drowned state of the world with lyrics like: “All my friends are dead / They all got fucked by the internet / All my friends are dead / Our brain’s bein’ bugged by the media.” Billboard gave an exclusive look at the music video, including some statements from Hawkins. He said, “Something we’ve always pushed for as a band is to question everything. And I think we’ve just gone through a period where it had been unfashionable to question things. Because if you did, you were the pariah, you were the outcast, the other. For the last few years, I’ve felt like an animal in a cage, just pacing, and my teeth are showing more. I had nowhere to vent that rage and that frustration until we put it into this song. I think a lot of people feel this way. You saw it spill over into riots and protests. There’s all this stuff just pent up inside people. Thankfully, we’re going back out on the road soon, so I’ll have somewhere to put it.”

The forthcoming album is the highly anticipated follow-up to the band’s 2017 album The Stories We Tell Ourselveswhich earned them three GRAMMY nominations, including Best Rock Album, and Best Rock Song and Best Rock Recording for the single “Go To War.”

Fans will be able to hear the new music live on the band’s recently announced co-headlining U.S. tour this spring, with Better Noise Music label mates Asking Alexandria, with support from Atreyu and Eva Under Fire . The tour is set to kick off in Kansas City, MO on May 13 and end in Houston, TX on June 19, with other stops planned in Nashville, Denver, Atlanta, New Orleans, and more – see full list of dates below. Tickets, VIP Meet & Greets and additional information are available at: http://nothingmore.net/

JONNY HAWKINS on “TIRED OF WINNING”

  • Q: “TIRED OF WINNING” is a compelling song with lyrics that underline the very precarious position that humankind is in right now: “So will we steer this ship straight through the void/ Or turn on ourselves and die out?” What inspired the song and how it mocks the phrase “winning”?

A: We find ourselves in the same position humanity has found itself over and over again… at the end of a series of self made problems. When we wake up to this, we realize that we are our own worst enemy, yet we focus so much of our energy on externalizing our problems. This song is a bird’s eye view of human nature.

  • Q: Vocally, the performance is stadium-size and intimate all at once, putting across the urgency of the song’s lyrics. What was going through your mind as you sang with this level of intensity? How will you translate this message into your live performance?

AThis may sound a bit lofty, but when I sing this song I feel as if the entire universe is coursing through my veins. I get goosebumps because I feel in line with something I can’t quite describe… like an old familiar spirit shows up.

  • Q: The song ends with the lines: “Are we going to live this life?” How do you feel we as a people got it all wrong–and where do you think we might all be headed?

AI think we all tend to lose the meaning in life by hyper focusing on it and romanticizing it. It’s a paradox… It’s like trying to grasp water in your hand; the tighter you hold, the less you have. The more weight you put on the “meaning” of your life, the less you feel connected to it. The purpose of life might be as simple as life itself… nothing more, nothing less.

  • Q: Musically, the song is very intense with unique sounds + a jarring rhythm that underline the chaos of this moment we are living in. Can you talk about the recording of the song and how you wanted it to sonically capture the song’s theme?

AWe wanted it to sound like aliens had a baby with a 90’s rock band. That baby grew up, dropped out of college and made our music video.

ABOUT NOTHING MORE
Rock audiences count NOTHING MORE among the most cherished acts, the kind of band who straddle the line between populism and intimacy with every performance. The San Antonio, Texas-born quartet builds unapologetically massive anthems from catchy hooks. Crowd-pleasers clear a path for heady, confessional, thought-provoking emotionalism. Fresh rewards reveal themselves with repeat listens, welcoming like-minded seekers with rich melodicism, like the best of Deftones or Tool.

Those who saw the band on tour with hard rock heavyweights like Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, and Disturbed will attest to what The Guardian observed: “There’s a sophistication to NOTHING MORE’s angst that raises them above the tumult-tossed pit.”

Kerrang! named NOTHING MORE one of 22 Artists Shaping the Future of Rock, alongside Nine Inch Nails, Twenty One Pilots, and Bring Me The Horizon. And frontman Jonny Hawkins, who met guitarist Mark Vollelunga before they were old enough to drive, appeared with Billie Joe Armstrong, Dave Grohl, and Hayley Williams in the English tastemaker’s Top 50 Greatest Rockstars in the World.

Hawkins and Vollelunga started the band in 2003 and were quickly joined by bassist Daniel Oliver and later by drummer Ben Anderson. The band’s blend of explosive bombast and nuanced storytelling resulted in a half dozen Top 10 singles at Mainstream Rock Radio, including the No. 1 hit “Go to War” and the Sirius XM Octane song of the decade and Active Rock chart-topper “This is the Time (Ballast).” The Stories We Tell Ourselves earned a head-turning three Grammy nominations. They’re set to follow it up with a new album in 2022, which is filled with their most philosophical and primal music to date. The first offering, “TURN IT UP LIKE,” released in March 2022, is a fitting first taste of what’s to come.

NOTHING MORE appeals to fans of Linkin Park, Incubus, Rage Against The Machine, and all crucial acts that stoke relatable passion with authenticity and integrity. Memorize the arena-ready hooks. Get mesmerized by the intimate, communal live show. Dig deeper down the rabbit hole into the work of philosophers and artists like Eckhart Tolle, Carl Jung, and Alan Watts, who inspire the band. There’s a place for every type of rock fan with NOTHING MORE. Built to last, here to stay.

  • TWLOHA – We probably don’t need to convince you that depression is real, that treating addiction isn’t as simple as “just stopping,” or that suicide has robbed too many of us of too many memories. You already know that these words are attached to names and faces, and they may even remind you of the person you see in the mirror every day. This is not an attempt to raise awareness; rather it’s an invitation to move the conversation forward with more compassion and grace. We invite you to visit the TWLOHA booth on-site for information on mental health resources, opportunities to share your story, and the space to feel less alone, more hopeful, and connect to folks at the festival who believe your presence has made Welcome To Rockville a better place. Starting conversations about mental health can be difficult and intimidating, so throughout the weekend we are inviting you into the conversation by asking two questions: “What is one thing you wish you could say?” and “What is one thing that you need to hear?”
  • Punk Rock & Paintbrushes X Rock Against Racism – Punk Rock & Paintbrushes is proud to announce that they will be a part of Welcome To Rockville with an onsite art exhibit that will showcase pieces from those playing at the festival and visual artists within the music community. This year they will also be teaming up with Rock Against Racism, an organization that brings together fans of all backgrounds through a shared love of music to discourage young people from embracing racism. Together they will be debuting their latest art collaborations with “Art on Shoes,” generously provided by TUK Footwear and created by a variety of band members playing at the festival through an on-site art auction to raise funds and awareness. Artists include but are not limited to: James “Munky” Schaffer of KORN, Mike Gallo of Agnostic Front and Charlie Benante of Anthrax.
  • Roundabout Ferris Wheel – Fans will feel on top of the #worldcenterofrock on the Roundabout Ferris Wheel! They’ll get to watch all the magic of Welcome To Rockville unfold as you go around, and may even catch one of their favorite artists in a setting unlike anything you’ll experience.
  • WhipSplash Water Slide – Fans will be able to cool off in between sets with Welcome To Rockville’s brand-new Water Slide activation. Get ready to rock hard & WhipSplash!

Towards the end of every decade, a couple of artists emerge with something different, that leads to new trends for the following decade. In 1969, Led Zeppelin took the final step towards what became heavy metal, which Black Sabbath unleashed upon the 1970’s. In the late 1970’s, Van Halen took the world by storm, leading to a guitar explosion in the 1980’s, with one path towards glam metal and another towards thrash. Guns N’ Roses absorbed everything around them and broke it back down as the 80’s ended. This led to the grunge movement of the 1990’s, where the music and the image was more raw and natural. The 90’s were full of actual alternatives, and by the end, hip-hop was making its way into the mix. The 2000’s launched with rap influences found in the music of Linkin Park, Disturbed, Papa Roach and others. As the 2000’s evolved, bad-ass artist such as Shinedown and Halestorm made music personal, sharing the deepest, darkest parts of themselves, while still inspiring us. When the 2010’s wound down, and sharing had become a way of life, artists began looking outwards, writing about the world around them and hoping to bring about positive changes. Bands like Fire From The Gods and Fever 333 led the way to rocking out for social justice.

2020 has been different in many ways, and music has been a reflection of our shared reality. With a global pandemic, a massive social justice movement, and a heated political situation as background, many artists stood up tall to address everything that was going on all around us. There seem to have been more standalone singles recorded and released this year than any other. Some were cover songs, some were re-imagined, and some were written in direct response to the times. Bon Jovi even went so far as to hold the release of their album (mainly due to the cancellation of their summer tour), and recorded 2 new songs – one about the pandemic, “Do What You Can”, and one about racial injustice, “American Reckoning”.

The first trend to hit was a response to the year’s first crisis. As it quickly became apparent that our doctors, nurses and other essential frontline workers were being impacted the most, bands offered emotional and financial support. Nonpoint re-imagined their pro-soldier song “Frontlines” into a pro-healthcare worker anthem “Remember Me (A Frontlines Tribute)”. Shinedown polished off an unreleased track, “Atlas Falls”, and used it to raise money for Direct Relief, who provides personal protective equipment. Bring Me The Horizon unleashed the song of the year, “Parasite Eve”, perfectly capturing the anxiety and fear that continues to grip us all. Halestorm supported #RoadieStrong, an effort to support suddenly out of work concert crew.

The next gut punch to our collective consciousness was the deliberate murder of George Floyd, which sparked the Black Lives Matter movement to achieve worldwide support. FEVER 333 released “SUPREMACY” in their continuing efforts to inspire Community, Charity, and Change. Robb Flynn and Machine Head released “Stop The Bleeding”, and enlisted Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage to join him. Black Veil Brides recorded a Bruce Springsteen song from the 1990’s, “American Skin (41 Shots)”.

Everyone expected a fierce political battle as the American Presidency was up for grabs, with the current occupant being our most polarizing figure ever, but his strategy of ignoring and minimizing both the pandemic and racial justice poured fuel on a country quite literally on fire for most of the year. Lamb Of God released an album chock full of sociopolitical commentary. They enlisted Jamey Jasta and Chuck Billy to lend their voices. Tom Morello, Shea Diamond & Dan Reynolds combined on “Stand Up”. Amy Lee and Evanescence released the single “Use My Voice”, accompanied by Within Temptation’s Sharon den Adel, violinist Lindsey Stirling, Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale and The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen. The band used the song to publicize HeadCount, which encouraged voter registration. System Of A Down responded to the attacks on Artsakh and Armenia with their first new song in 15 years, “Protect The Land”.

In addition to the trends of releasing singles, and supporting social justice causes, the other thing that should be evident by now is the increased level of collaboration between artists. The hip-hop industry has long used guest vocals as a way to enhance each other’s status, and introduce new artists to their audience. The rock world finally seems to be catching on. Hyro The Hero tapped Hellyeah’s Chad Gray on this week’s “Fight”, capping off a year that saw many interesting combinations. This was preceded by Hollywood Undead featuring Papa Roach & Ice Nine Kills on “Heart of a Champion”. They also have Hyro The Hero and Tech N9ne on new tracks. Corey Taylor also tapped Tech N9ne on his solo debut track “CMFT Must Be Stopped”. Islander added AJ Channer of Fire From The Gods on “Freedom”. I Prevail added Joyner Lucas to “DOA”. Breaking Benjamin enlisted Lacey Sturm on a new version of “Dear Agony”. Sixx: A.M. returned in 2020 to headline the opioid crisis Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation benefit single “Maybe It’s Time”, with an all-star cast that includes Corey Taylor, Joe Elliott, Brantley Gilbert, Ivan Moody, Slash, AWOLNATION and Tommy Vext. The Struts enlisted Joe Elliot and Phil Collen of Def Leppard on “I Hate How Much I Want You”. Even Ozzy Osbourne featured Post Malone and Elton John on 2 of his best tracks in decades, “It’s a Raid” and “Ordinary Man”.

If these trends hold true, we can look forward to an exciting decade of rock music, as worlds collide, sounds expand and artists work together to not only make great music, but to leave a positive impact on the world. When concerts and festivals resume, we can only hope that we get to experience some of these musical mashups in person, live on stage.

To Promote Mental Health Awareness Month
Hard Rock Group From Columbus, Ohio Uses Music To
Raise Awareness Of Youth Mental & Behavioral Health
Through Their “Scream Back” Program With Educational Partner On Our Sleeves™,
A National Platform Spearheaded by
Nationwide Children’s Hospital
“We are not alone.” In a nation full of young people feeling increasingly isolated and hopeless, it’s a powerful message. It’s also the driving force behind Columbus, Ohio-based band Pray For Sleep, who aims to be a positive influence in the hard rock genre. Today, the on-the-rise band announces a series of activities for May to promote mental health awareness month.
On May 1Pray For Sleep will self-issue the digital release of their debut album, Behind Our Eyes, which aims to bolster a generation racked by anxiety, depression and suicide with a message of solidarity and a cathartic roar on 10 powerful songs. The digital release features two unreleased tracks—“Blood Is Not Blue” and “Off Track”—as well as a new acoustic version of anchor single “Scream Back.”
See the official music video of the acoustic version of “Scream Back” here:
“Scream Back” shares the name with the group’s initiative addressing mental health issues plaguing the nation’s youth. Established in November 2019, the Scream Back program aligns the band members—vocalist Grant DeCrane, 23; drummer Reno Houston, 20; and guitarist Hayden Kissler, 19—with the educational messaging of Nationwide Children’s Hospital‘s On Our Sleeves™ movement, as well as Columbus’ active rock radio station 99.7 The Blitz (WRKZ) and SJC Custom Drums.
Scream Back largely utilizes in-school appearances to deliver peer messaging and personal stories that challenge fellow young people to have an open dialogue about mental health. Most recently, that includes Pray For Sleep promoting On Our Sleeves™ resources for helping teens and kids through the COVID-19 crisis, as seen here: https://www.nationwidechildrens.org/giving/on-our-sleeves/find-help/tools-for-you/coronavirus
In addition to contributing all proceeds from their first headlining show to On Our Sleeves™Pray For Sleep also submitted their lyrics to the hospital’s mental health experts for their input prior to the release.
Next month, Pray For Sleep will also perform “Scream Back” as part of the annual “We Are The Majority Rally” that brings thousands of young people together to promote the idea that most youth choose not to do drugs and instead are making responsible decisions. For the first time this year, the statewide Ohio rally will go virtual and invites youth across the country to participate. It will be held as part of National Prevention Week on May 15 at 5:00 pm ET, hosted by the Prevention Action Alliance with support from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services as well as the Ohio Governor’s Office. More details about the event, including how to sign up and where to watch, will be posted at
Of the digital release for Behind Our Eyes, drummer Reno Houston says, “We know that everyone has been stuck inside and could be dealing with mental health issues (like all of us in the band), and we hope that releasing these songs will let people know that ‘We Are Not Alone.’ This is especially important with the COVID-19 situation and May being Mental Behavioral Health month. We hope people know there are resources out there and hopefully we can help shine some light on a dark situation.”
Adds vocalist Grant DeCrane, “We’re so excited to be able to release the album in its entirety. We want people to hear the whole message, and we want to know what people think of the project. We started working on it a year-and-a-half ago so it’s wonderful to finally see it all come together after so much work and time.”
Behind Our Eyes marks the band’s debut album and is a follow-up to their self-titled EP in 2017 that followed a whirlwind of events, which led to the band’s formation. That same year, rock band Papa Roach had invited Columbus’ Olentangy Orange High School Marching Band to be part of Papa Roach’s performance of hit single “Born For Greatness” at the Rock On The Range festival. Hayden Kissler was one of the marching band members who got the chance to be on stage for the performance. Soon after, he and friends Reno Houston and Grant DeCrane started Pray For Sleep.
The band returned to the Rock On The Range stage in 2018 where they hand one of their earliest performances, with several members missing out on their high school graduation to participate in the memorable moment. After spending their teenage years finding solace in heavy music, shouting along with bands like fellow Ohioans Beartooth as well as Bring Me The HorizonPray For Sleep has since shared the stage with We Came As Romans, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Silent Planet, Fit For A King, and Counterfeit.

OTHERWISE AND MASCOT RECORDS PREMIERE VIDEO FOR “CROSSFIRE”

Band Captures Sobering Imagery of Today’s World In Presenting Their
Hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada As It Goes Dark

Las Vegas, NV — OTHERWISE took to the streets to capture a picture of Las Vegas no one inhabiting the Earth thought they would ever witness.  As the entire civilization across planet Earth navigates towards a better day, the band took the path of continuing to create in support of their recent release DEFY. Today, they present a new video for the second single “Crossfire”.

Singer Adrian Patrick shares, “One of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do, as performing artists, was cancel our Defy Division Tour. It’s left us wondering how we’ll be able to feed our families, if we’ll still even have a career after this.  We know that millions of others across the globe are facing the same dire prospect.  Yet it’s not just jobs & money that we are losing… people are fighting for their lives, right now.  The whole world has been caught in the Crossfire. We never thought we’d live to see the heartbreaking day when the bright lights and dancing fountains are turned off in the Neon Desert.  But we are all in this together, so let’s keep our heads down low & hopes up high, for humanity. This pandemic doesn’t discriminate… and neither does rock n roll. Stay safe, stay home, stay strong.”

On the release of the lead single “Lifted,” Adrian Patrick offered:

“We’re currently living in very divisive and polarizing times, but what both sides of the aisle need to realize is that the left wing and the right wing are part of the same damn bird. Thankfully we still have the unifying power of rock n roll with the hope we can all learn to fly together.”

As American society comes together in practicing social distancing to reach a moment of containment, and support one another in a manner that potentially is unprecedented, politicians alongside the entire populace will hopefully step forward united as the singer envisioned with hope before the world was turned upside down.

The Las Vegas quartet—Adrian Patrick [lead vocals], Ryan Patrick [guitar, vocals], Nick Bedrosian [bass, vocals] and Joe Conner [drums]—push the boundaries of their signature style in terms of both songcraft and sonic experimentation alike on their latest studio album DEFY.  Since their self-titled independent debut in 2006, they unleashed a string of fan favorite albums—True Love Never Dies [2012], Peace At All Costs [2014], and Sleeping Lions [2017]. Along the way, they tallied 40 million-plus streams and shared the stage with everyone from Stone Sour to Papa Roach in addition to shutting down Welcome To Rockville, Rocklahoma, and Shiprocked!  When we all come through this together, they’ll be back on the stage bringing energy, entertainment and inevitably some level of joy to all assembled market by market across the planet.

These are our Five Fave Rock Albums of 2019, with a focus on Mental Health Awareness. With many high-profile suicides and continued struggles with addiction in the music community and the country as a whole, many artists decided to open up and dig deep. Hopefully the stigma around mental health will go away, and people will be able to talk about it as something that everyone deals with, that changes from day to day the same way that physical health does. We have the deeply personal debut album from one of the most exciting bands in years. We have a unique artist baring his soul after a tragic loss. We have a legendary band who has never been afraid to expose their weaknesses. We have a rising band staring their issues straight in the eye. We have a comeback story from a man who lost his band and his family due to his addictions, but never his inner strength.

#5 – Scott Stapp – The Space Between The Shadows

#4 – Bad Wolves – N.A.T.I.O.N.

#3 – Papa Roach – Who Do You Trust?

#2 – KoRn – The Nothing

Ohio’s Rock Event of The Summer is Back July 10-12, 2020 at the Historic Ohio State Reformatory
Tickets Available Now – Just in Time for Holiday Gift-Giving!
40 Bands on Two Stages, 60 Tattoo Artists, Reformatory Tours, Gourmet Food Trucks, Camping and Escape from Blood Prison Haunted Attraction
Tickets are now on sale now for the third annual INKCARCERATION Music and Tattoo Festival, featuring headliners Limp Bizkit, Weezer and Blink-182, at the famous Ohio State Reformatory, a.k.a. Shawshank prison, in Mansfield, OH, on July 10, 11, and 12, 2020
.
“We are extremely humbled by the support the fans put behind this festival in 2019 and wanted to bring them something even bigger in 2020,” the INKCARCERATION Festival team says. “For year three, we put together an extremely eclectic lineup that brings together all forms of rock. This festival is becoming known as the most unique event in the country, so we wanted to construct a lineup as unique as the venue itself! And, of course, it’s still the only rock festival held at a famous haunted prison! Expect lots of site upgrades from VIP to camping. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store!”
.
INKCARCERATION Festival will feature over 40 bands on two outdoors stages, 60 tattoo artists, reformatory tours, gourmet food trucks, the best drinks, camping and the return of the popular haunted house attraction Escape from Blood Prison.
.
Joining Limp Bizkit, Weezer and Blink-182 will be a diverse lineup that includes Papa Roach, Halestorm, Mastodon, Underoath, Hollywood Undead, Steel Panther, Falling in Reverse, Candlebox, Badflower, Atreyu, Static-X , Puddle of Mudd, New Politics, All That Remains, We Came as Romans, The Devil Wears Prada, Emmure, Attila, Stick to Your Guns, New Years Day, Escape the Fate, Cold, Carnifex, The Aquadolls, Band-Maid, Stitched Up Heart, September Mourning, Damn Nation, Paralandra, Along Came a Spider, A Killers Confession, MissYou, Sink the Ship, Dread Engine, Mollo Rilla, Saving Escape, and more.
.
Stay tuned for additional band and tattoo artist announcements.

.
Ohio State Reformatory’s historic building and grounds provide a perfectly eerie setting for the INKCARCERATION Festival. The massive, awe-inspiring locale is recognized as not only one of the most haunted reformatories in the country, but also as the filming location for multiple Hollywood films. The most famous of these films is the 1994 cinematic classic and IMDB highest rated movie of all time, The Shawshank Redemption, starring Hollywood legends Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins.
.
Once again, it will be Halloween in July at the INKCARCERATION Festival as Escape from Blood Prison makes an early appearance. The annual Halloween haunted house attraction typically runs from the end of September through early November at the Ohio State Reformatory, but this spooky experience will be open all weekend long for festival goers. Once Blood Prison takes over the reformatory, it is filled with bloodthirsty inmates waiting for victims to enter and try to make it through the facility alive.
.
“We here at the Reformatory are thrilled to be the home of the INKCARCERATION Festival again for year three,” says Dan Smith, Associate Director, Ohio State Reformatory. “The festival continues to bring some of the best music fans and tattoo enthusiasts from all over the world back to Mansfield! We can’t wait to share what will be the best INKCARCERATION Festival yet!”

Savage After Midnight are heading back out on tour in June with New Years Day, in support of their recently released debut EP, “11:59” (RED Music/The Century Family).  They have released their 2nd single “Heartless Machine, with a video premiere at Loudwire.  The song is the follow up to their Top 35 Active Rock hit “10 Feet Tall“.
Dogged perseverance and unyielding determination are qualities shared by countless bands struggling to break out from their hometown club scene and onto the arena stage.  Memphis, Tennessee quintet Savage After Midnight have exhibited far more patience and dedication than most. They have released their debut EP, “11:59” (RED Music/The Century Family) after wrapping up a run of tour dates with Memphis May Fire.
Since the band members formed in 2009, Savage After Midnight have been sidetracked by an obligatory name change, a studio fire, scrapped recordings from different producers, a crippling lawsuit they had nothing to do with and an 11th hour record label change.  We’ve been put through the wringer, man,” says vocalist Shi. “We’ve totally been fed through it. If it’s true that what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, then we must be the strongest band in the world.”The years of trial and error, and even more years of being uprooted and returning to square one made Savage After Midnight a more professional band, improving their chemistry and allowing them to fine tune their presentation both live and in the studio. The band connected with producer John Falls (Egypt Central) and recorded what would become the “11:59” EP. The band’s “work-hard-by-day, rock-harder-by-night” ethos is poured into a collection of songs that are an energized, emotional introduction to musicians that desperately want to make a mark, but only on their own terms. S.A.M. music is aggressive, but still has pop sensibilities. The tracks are colored by galvanic hard rock passages, a contrast of screamed melodies and soaring hooks, and it’s augmented by electronic segments that give the band a modern edge.

10 Feet Tall,” the first single and video release from the EP, is already making inroads at SiriusXm Octane and Music Choice.  It’s anthemic and energizing, building from a melodic verse, through a propulsive bridge and into an unforgettable chorus. “Unleash,” the opening cut on the EP, is a message of empowerment in the face of adversity, driven forward by steady backbeats, chugging guitars and electronic effects. “Heartless Machine” is an intense song about soldiers who are sent to war and desensitized, trained so that they will obey commands that civilians never have to contemplate.

Savage After Midnight has toured with Shinedown, Sick Puppies, Pop Evil, and Story of the Year, among others.  The band will be touring throughout 2019, and additional songs have been recorded for another EP to be released late this year or early 2020.

Living up to the band’s name, leader Shi admits: “We all like to get wild.  There’s something savage about us when it comes to throwing down and partying – it’s just who we are. We work really hard, but at the end of the day we’re down for a good time. We’ll put on whatever work hat we have to, but once it strikes midnight it’s our time – and it’s time to tear it up!” 2019 will be the year that Savage After Midnight tears through the rock world and at long last makes it mark.

11:59 track listing:
1) Unleash
2) 10 Feet Tall
3) Heartless Machine
4) King
5) Overrated

The ninth annual Welcome To Rockville Festival expanded to 3 days in 2019, spread out across Jacksonville, Florida’s Metropolitan Park along the St John’s River. Fans were treated to eats rom the following local and regional restaurants and food trucks: Barrique, The Bread and Board, BC Taco, Brucci’s Pizza, Cely’s Filipino Cuisine, Chinchilla’s Eatz on the Streetz, Dos Vatos Tacos, Eli’s BBQ, Gouda Boys, Grumpy’s Homemade Ice Cream, Guanabana Ice Pops, Island Noodles, Mama’s Food Truck, Mojo’s BBQ, Pie Baby Wood Fired Pizza, Pele’s Wood Fire Pizza & Tuscan Kitchen, Sweet Pete’s, The Girls Gone Green Nacho Bar, Ubora Coffee, What’s The Catch Fish Tacos, and Wurstbusters Truck. Drinkers could choose from a variety of beverages, including Bud Light, Enter Night Pilsner from Metallica and Stone Brewing, Blackened American whiskey from Master Distiller Dave Pickerell and Metallica, selections from the Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyards Wine Garden (owned by Maynard James Keenan, co-founder of international recording acts Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer), killer cocktails at the Heavy Tiki Bar oasis, and local craft beer, including options from world renowned Tampa-based Cigar City Brewing.

Sunday, May 5, 2019, AKA Cinco de Mayo, was Day 3 of Welcome To Rockville. The gift to patient festival goers was Tool introducing two new songs, but patience was necessary, as a massive thunder and lightning storm swept through Jacksonville, delaying the opening of gates for almost 4 hours. Unfortunately, some of the acts had to be cancelled, including The Glorious Sons, Dorothy, While She Sleeps, Shvpes, The Dirty Nil, and Hyde. Shvpes was able to put on an impressive acoustic show on the Zippo Sessions stage. The city waived the curfew once again, allowing the show to go on until midnight, featuring Tool, Incubus, Bring Me The Horizon, Papa Roach, The Struts, Meshuggah, Architects, The Interrupters, Fever 333, Reignwolf, Grandson, and Yungblud. Tool was obviously a highlight. Bring Me The Horizon brought a massive stage set and conceptual performance that was their best effort to date. Papa Roach stole the hearts of the crowd, as they always seem to do. Jacoby Shaddix even helped the busy security crew, catching one ecstatic crowd surfer and bringing her down to safety.
