Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee will come together with the Hawkins family to celebrate the life, music and love of their husband, father, brother and bandmate with The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts.

As one of the most respected and beloved figures in modern music, Taylor’s monolithic talent and magnetic personality endeared him to millions of fans, peers, friends and fellow musical legends the world over. Millions mourned his untimely passing on March 25, with passionate and sincere tributes coming from fans as well as musicians Taylor idolized. The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will unite several of those artists, the Hawkins family and of course his Foo Fighters brothers in celebration of Taylor’s memory and his legacy as a global rock icon—his bandmates and his inspirations playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life.

The all-star rock and roll shows will take place September 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium and September 27 at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The initial list of artists scheduled to perform with Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium in London, England on September 3, 2022 includes Chris Chaney, Stewart Copeland, Liam Gallagher, Omar Hakim, Joshua Homme, Chrissie Hynde, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Mark Ronson, Supergrass, Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Chevy Metal. Dave Chappelle will also make a special appearance.

Taylor Hawkins joined Foo Fighters in 1997, first appearing with the band on the tour supporting sophomore album The Colour & The Shape. He made his recorded debut with Foo Fighters with 1999’s There Is Nothing Left To Lose, playing on every subsequent FF album, including One By One, In Your Honor (the first FF album to feature him assuming lead vocal duties on his song “Cold Day In The Sun”), Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, Wasting Light, Sonic Highways, Concrete & Gold (also featuring him as lead singer on “Sunday Rain”) and Medicine at Midnight. As a member of Foo Fighters, Taylor was a 15-time GRAMMY Award winner and member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He lived and loved music to an insatiable degree, with Foo Fighters as well as his numerous solo and side projects and collaborations.

YOSHIKI -Life of a Japanese Rock Star-, a new documentary series, is slated to premiere on YouTube Originals — the global, streaming platform from YouTube where you can discover original series and movies from today’s hottest talent — in March, 2020.

YOSHIKI was hand-picked by YouTube Originals as part of a select group of internationally-renowned artists such as Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, BTS, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Mark Ronson, Dwayne Johnson, and Taylor Swift. The six-episode series marks the first documentary program from a Japanese artist to be featured on YouTube Originals.

YOSHIKI -Life of a Japanese Rock Star- follows YOSHIKI’s many facets as a composer, rock drummer, classical pianist, and fashion designer and approaches the sometimes challenging behind-the-scenes reality of when music and passion intersect. YOSHIKI -Life of a Japanese Rock Star- offers a glimpse into the life of an artist who is active on the global stage. YOSHIKI commented that he hopes to inspire viewers as much as possible by discussing “why I became a musician, why I continue to be active, why I continue to exist.”

On Wednesday, Nov. 13, YOSHIKI appeared as the surprise guest at YouTube’s Brandcast Japan 2019, hosted by Google at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan, and it was announced that all six episodes of YOSHIKI’s documentary program YOSHIKI -Life of a Japanese Rock Star- will be available for streaming on YouTube Originals starting March 2020.

About YOSHIKI:

YOSHIKI was named by Consequence of Sound as “one of the most influential musicians and composers in Japanese history” and is described by Billboard Magazine as “prolific” and “a musical innovator”. He received the Asian Icon Award from UK’s Classic Rock Magazine and in 2017 was chosen to be the first-ever Japanese man on the Vogue Japan cover.

In 2013, YOSHIKI released his classical solo album, Yoshiki Classical, which included works co-produced by acclaimed Beatles producer Sir George Martin. The album debuted at #1 on the iTunes Classical Music chart in 10 countries, and featured performances by YOSHIKI as both the composer and pianist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

KAABOO Del Mar has officially dropped its music and comedy lineups for its fifth annual event happening September 13-15, 2019. Nashville Rock chart toppers Kings of Leon, live music icons Dave Matthews Band, and British folk-rock luminaries Mumford & Sons will headline on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively. They will be joined by a lineup of cross-genre hit-makers including Duran Duran, Black Eyed Peas, OneRepublic, Sheryl Crow, Maren Morris, a special collaboration from hip-hop stars Snoop Dogg + Wu-Tang Clan 25th Anniversary Set, plus Mark Ronson, The Revivalists, REO Speedwagon, The Bangles, The Cult, Sublime with Rome, Boyz II Men, and many more, including a yet to be announced special performance from the 2019 American Idol winner.
