Louisville, KY – It’s about to get LOUD in Louisville as the long-running, fan favorite festival Louder Than Life returns for its 10th year in 2024! Producers Danny Wimmer Presents – one of the largest independent promoters in the U.S. – pulled out all the stops to celebrate a decade of Louder Than Life, North America’s Largest Rock Festival, including the mighty return of thrash gods Slayer to the stage. In addition to their headlining performance, Loudmouths can also look forward to metal heavyweights Mötley Crüe, Slipknot and Korn closing out additional nights of the four-day event, which returns to its home at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY September 26, 27, 28 & 29, 2024.

Five full stages will keep the destination event amped up all weekend, welcoming additional performances from Disturbed, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch, Evanescence, Falling in Reverse, Breaking Benjamin, The Offspring, Staind, Till Lindemann, Chevelle, Dropkick Murphys, Halestorm, Gojira, Seether, In This Moment, Anthrax, Sum 41, Mastodon, Tom Morello, and many more. In total, almost 150 music acts will be part of the festival weekend, along with Louisville’s finest spirits and top local cuisine. The 2022 event was named Consequence’s Festival Of The Year and was nominated for Pollstar’s Festival Of the Year, and the 2023 edition marked a new attendance record with 180,000 people, so fans are encouraged to buy early and secure their spot for 2024.

Louisville locals are invited to celebrate the Louder Than Life lineup with three events this weekend, starting with a Dare to Care food drive at Kroger in Breckenridge this Friday, February 23 from 4:30-7 p.m., in which fans can donate five non-perishable items to unlock service fee free passes. Danny Wimmer Presents’ “Biggest Year In Rock!” has officially kicked off, with the independent festival producer’s 2023 festival season now underway, led by DWP’s biggest event ever. Welcome To Rockville – held May 18-21 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida – brought together over 170,000 music fans across four days, marking the largest attendance ever for a DWP event. As well, the 47,000 attendees on Sunday, May 21 was also a record-breaking single day crowd for the producer. It was quickly followed by the mighty return of Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival, May 25-28 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, with the two combined events bringing in nearly 300,000 music fans over eight days of nonstop music and entertainment.

The 2023 editions of Welcome To Rockville (the 12^th year of the event) and Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival (its first year back since 2019) have been buzzed about for months, with anticipated performances from some of rock and metal’s biggest bands and unexpected reunions. Both weekends offered memorable sets from Avenged Sevenfold – the act’s first festival appearances in five years – as well as the first shows since 2022 from Tool. As well, Sonic Temple gave fans one of the first shows back for Foo Fighters with new drummer Josh Freese taking the stage and the first show since 2020 from Queens Of The Stone Age where the band performed the live debut of new song “Emotion Sickness.” It was also the final Ohio show for rock legends KISS who are currently on their End of the Road farewell tour. Welcome To Rockville also had the first U.S. festival appearance from the new Pantera lineup (a celebration of original members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul) and an additional headlining set from metal heavyweights Slipknot.

The two packed lineups also included Deftones, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Evanescence, Incubus, Beartooth (performing for their biggest hometown crowd ever in Columbus), The Cult, Alice Cooper, The Mars Volta, Puscifer, I Prevail, Chevelle, Coheed & Cambria, Sublime with Rome and Falling In Reverse.

Several performances featured special guests including Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford who appeared with Godsmack at Sonic Temple for a cover of “Dream On” and The Beatles’ “Come Together.” Crossover artist HARDY added to his Welcome To Rockville set with the surprise guest appearance of A Day To Remember vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, and Motionless In White invited Born Of Osiris singer Ronnie Canizaro for a guest spot in their Rockville set.

In addition to the incredible legacy acts filling out the lineup, Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple were also memorable for introducing attendees to the next generation of rock with young acts like Vended, OTTTO, Bastardane and Hammerhedd wowing crowds with their high-energy performances.

In total, nearly 100 music performances took place over four days on four stages at Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple featured 75-plus acts over four days on three stages. Welcome To Rockville also offered amusement rides, a giant water slide, and art installations, while Sonic Temple pillar installations featured art from world renowned artists such as Shepard Fairey, Hazmat Design, Jim “Taz” Evans, Plastic Jesus, Electric Eye, Hydro74, Geoff May, Guerilla One and more. Both events were hosted by Jose “Metal Ambassador” Mangin who participated in on-stage appearances and fan meet and greets. Partner experiences, award-winning spirits, and delicious food and beverage options rounded out the onsite offerings.

Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple are also proud of the charitable efforts the festivals support, including: Musically Fed, which donated more than 4,000 meals in Daytona and Columbus, as well as Take Me Home, To Write Love On Her Arms, Artists For Trauma, The Taylor Foundation, Pass The Bass, Living The Dream, and FC Cancer. In addition, Nationwide Children’s Hospital – On Our Sleeves Movement For Children’s Mental Health was designated as the official charity of Sonic Temple.

Welcome To Rockville campers get the ultimate experience, spending five days on the festival field right in the middle of all the action and with the quickest access to all the stages. Six months into the 2020 global pandemic, and I have literally started dreaming about attending festivals, photographing concerts, and interviewing artists. Music festivals and live concerts have been postponed, rescheduled and canceled, sometimes all three. As the fall events have finally been eliminated, and the winter rock cruises have been pushed into May, I have no idea when I will be lucky enough to cover an actual concert again. In the meantime, GameOn.media presents Fantasy Festival Friday – a fictitious concert performed by 5 bands we wish we could watch live in person, at full volume, with all of our rock family in attendance.

On Fantasy Festival Friday #3, we got to witness the power and passion of Godsmack, KoRn, The Pretty Reckless, Saint Asonia, and Joyous Wolf.

Joyous Wolf started the night off right, with a breathtaking performance of their modern take on the classic rock sound. Singer Nick Reese is a dynamo, who is probably still doing flips backstage long after warming up the crowd. Guitarist Blake Allard is a guitarist poster come to life, with licks as beautiful as his flowing locks. Drummer Robert Sodaro and bassist Greg Braccio are as tight as can be. Joyous Wolf is a band on the rise. Don’t be late getting inside or you will be kicking yourself for missing out.

Saint Asonia was up next, excited to debut songs from their second outstanding record “Flawed Design”. The band was created by former Three Days Grace singer/guitarist Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist Mike Mushok. The current lineup includes drummer Cody Watkins and bassist Cale Gontier. These seasoned performers put on a great show, highlighted by a surprise appearance by Sully Erna, who joined them to play the song he recorded with them, “The Hunted”.

The Pretty Reckless was riding high, kicking things off with the #1 hit of the summer “Death by Rock and Roll”. Taylor Momsen just gets better and better as a vocalist, delivering songs with intense passion. Guitarist Ben Phillips, drummer Jamie Perkins, and bassist Mark Damon have played together for a long time, and the musical bond between them is obvious and impressive.

The powerhouse KoRn lit up the night with their explosive brand of metal. Jonathan Davis captivates an audience like no other, from whisper to scream to blowing bagpipes. Guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer, Brian “Head” Welch, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu and drummer Ray Luzier have defined their own style of rock music, and they deliver it live to perfection.

Godsmack then took over to take things over the top. Sully Erna never lets his fans off easy, encouraging them and leading them through an insanely deep set list. Drummer Shannon Larkin, guitarist Tony Rombola and bassist Robbie Merrill thundered through the set. After this long evening of rock, Godsmack got every last ounce of energy from the crowd, leaving everyone in attendance exhausted and satisfied.

Hard rock heavyweights KoRn played the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista, California on August 2, 2019. The show was co-headlined by Alice In Chains, with support from Underoath and Fever 333.

Jonathan Davis, James “Munky” Shaffer, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, Brian “Head” Welch and Ray Luzier are a musical machine, performing their original brand of metal in perfect harmony. The crowd went nuts for every song. Their stage set was extremely creative, with funhouse mirrors and lighting that was constantly moving and reshaping itself like a Transformer.

Hard rock legends Alice In Chains played the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista, California on August 2, 2019. The show was co-headlined by KoRn, with support from Underoath and Fever 333.

The second incarnation of Alice In Chains, featuring William DuVall on vocals and guitar, has released 3 outstanding albums since 2009. The set intermingled tracks from those albums with classics from their first 3 masterpiece albums, plus selections from the EP’s Sap and Jar of Flies. All of the songs blended seamlessly together, creating a full set of nonstop magic.

Founding members Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney made a point of remembering Layne Staley and Mike Starr, dedicating “Down In A Hole” to their memory. Long time bassist Mike Inez completes the band and continues to flesh out their sound with his driving low end. Alice In Chains is a rare band that combines their legacy with a vibrant current catalogue, and always delivers an outstanding emotional performance.

It’s been another memorable spring festival season for Danny Wimmer Presents, with record-breaking total attendance of nearly 350,000 during three consecutive weekends in May. Fans from around the world came together to enjoy performances from some of the biggest names in rock and metal, as well as enhanced onsite experiences at the 9^th annual Welcome To Rockville in Jacksonville, FL May 3-5, brand-new events, Epicenter in Rockingham, NC May 10-12 and Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival in Columbus, OH May 17-19, as well as Chicago Open Air Presents in Bridgeview, IL May 18-19.

Welcome To Rockville had its biggest year ever in 2019 with 99,000 in attendance over a sold-out weekend, May 3, 4 & 5 at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. The 9^th annual festival featured some of the biggest names in rock, with Tool, Korn, Rob Zombie, Judas Priest,  Incubus, Evanescence, Shinedown, Bring Me The Horizon and Chevelle leading a lineup of over 50 music artists for Florida’s biggest rock experience.

The weekend began with a Thursday night pre-party headlined by Amigo The Devil, and concluded with a marquee set from Tool, which featured the debut of a pair of new songs, “Invincible” and “Descending,” the band’s first new music in 13 years. In between, Korn (Friday) and Rob Zombie (Saturday) closed out the festival’s first two nights with memorable sets that covered the span of each act’s enduring careers. Judas Priest delivered performances of rare tracks like “Out In The Cold” that they haven’t played live in 33 years. Papa Roach paid tribute to The Prodigy – originally slated to kick off their first U.S. tour in a decade at Welcome To Rockville before the untimely passing of frontman Keith Flint – with a cover of “Firestarter,” and Zakk Wylde offered a piano-led tribute to the late Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell during Black Label Society’s set. Evanescence played their first rock festival in 2 years, and The Damned Things reunited for their first performance since 2011. Up-and-coming acts Boston Manor, Badflower and Yungblud delivered high-energy sets that showcased the best of music’s emerging talent as well.

Epicenter entered its first year with an impressive audience of 80,000 converging on the purpose-built Rockingham Festival Grounds in Rockingham, NC over the course of May 10, 11 & 12. The new three-day destination festival provided a unique experience with after-hours programming plus various camping options and amenities.

The weekend kicked off with a special Campers’ Pre-Party on Thursday featuring tribute acts Nightrain and Thunderstruck, as well as the Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow and local Charlotte band Killakoi. The main event featured a rousing finale from chart-topping rock act Foo Fighters, who offered an incredible two-and-a-half hour set including a special rendition of “My Hero” dedicated to frontman Dave Grohl’s mom on Mother’s Day. Korn closed out night one with a jam-packed set list of hits after a moving tribute to late young rock fan Ally, who lost her battle with cancer in late 2018 after attending previous Danny Wimmer Presents festivals through the partner organization Fxck Cancer / Dyin 2 Live Dreams Program.

Some of the other highlights of the weekend included guitar phenomenon Nita Strauss joining Evanescence for a surprise collaboration on the song “Disappear,” The Crystal Method’s special tribute to Keith Flint, the late frontman of fellow electronica act The Prodigy, the reunion of Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine from That Metal Show during two rare sets, and after hours performances from Wilson, Hyro The Hero, and Arrested Youth.

At both Welcome To Rockville and Epicenter, guests were able to experience the Boilermaker pop-up featuring Metallica’s Blackened Whiskey and Enter Night Pilsner. Blackened, a super-premium American whiskey blend, crafted by the late Master Distiller Dave Pickerell and finished in the earth shattering music of Metallica, and Enter Night Pilsner, a collaboration with the rockstars of craft brewing Stone Brewing Company, came together under one roof to offer guests a one-of-kind musical festival experience.

The inaugural Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival capped off the Danny Wimmer Presents 2019 spring festival season with sold-out crowds of 120,000 at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, OH, May 17, 18 & 19. In addition to massive performances from Foo Fighters, System Of A Down,  Disturbed, Ghost, Papa Roach and Lamb of God, the weekend offered one-of-a-kind art experiences, including legendary street artist RISK, art installations, live mural painting, live screen-printing and the popular Art Tent. The SiriusXM Comedy & Spoken Word Tent presented sets from Andrew Dice Clay, Henry Rollins, Tom Morello, Craig Gass, Nadya of Pussy Riot, and more.

Foo Fighters capped off the festival with an extended set featuring special surprises including The Struts’ frontman Luke Spiller appearing alongside Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins in a cover of the Queen / David Bowie song “Under Pressure” and Pauly Shore contributing to a rendition of the Foo Fighters’ “My Hero” (dedicated to the comedian’s father who had passed away over the weekend). The Cult performed several tracks from their same-named album Sonic Temple, System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian joined Tom Morello on stage for a performance of  Audioslave’s “Like A Stone” (dedicated to the late Chris Cornell on the anniversary of his passing), and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe made a guest appearance during Gojira’s set.

Throughout all three festival weekends, lucky fans also enjoyed exclusive acoustic performances from bands including Beartooth, Fever 333, Grandson, Shvpes, Wilson and Dirty Honey during the Zippo Sessions. Attendees 21+ had their thirst quenched by a variety of beverages, including selections from the Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyards Wine Garden (owned by Maynard James Keenan, co-founder of international recording acts Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer), killer cocktails at the Heavy Tiki Bar oasis, and local craft beer. Fans were also able to meet their favorite bands and receive autographs at the Monster and f.y.e. Fan Experience tents, try out the latest gear at The Music Experience tent and learn more about animal rescue Take Me Home and the Fxck Cancer / Dyin 2 Live Dreams Program.

Chicago Open Air Presents brought a massive two-day stadium show to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, IL, just outside downtown Chicago during the weekend of May 18 & 19 with crowds of 50,000 taking in the memorable performances. Tool closed out the event with performances of brand-new songs “Invincible” and “Descending,” the band’s first new material in 13 years. System Of A Down topped things off Saturday with a high-energy headlining set, while Ghost, The Cult, Gojira, Meshuggah and In This Moment delivered captivating performances. The ninth annual Welcome To Rockville Festival expanded to 3 days in 2019, spread out across Jacksonville, Florida’s Metropolitan Park along the St John’s River. Fans were treated to eats rom the following local and regional restaurants and food trucks: Barrique, The Bread and Board, BC Taco, Brucci’s Pizza, Cely’s Filipino Cuisine, Chinchilla’s Eatz on the Streetz, Dos Vatos Tacos, Eli’s BBQ, Gouda Boys, Grumpy’s Homemade Ice Cream, Guanabana Ice Pops, Island Noodles, Mama’s Food Truck, Mojo’s BBQ, Pie Baby Wood Fired Pizza, Pele’s Wood Fire Pizza & Tuscan Kitchen, Sweet Pete’s, The Girls Gone Green Nacho Bar, Ubora Coffee, What’s The Catch Fish Tacos, and Wurstbusters Truck. Friday, May 3, 2019 was Day 1 of Welcome To Rockville. The day was off to a great start, when dangerous thunderstorms closed in on the festival site, and the promoters took every precaution by pausing the concert, and safely evacuating the park. After a couple of hours delay, and a negotiated extension to the city curfew, the bands were rescheduled and the show went on. The performers on Day 1 were Korn, Evanescence, Chevelle, The Crystal Method, Flogging Molly, Killswitch Engage, Circa Survive, Tom Morello, Mark Lanegan Band, Beartooth, Black Pistol Fire, Hands Like Houses, Wilson, Hyro The Hero, Light The Torch, Amigo The Devil, Demob Happy, Cleopatrick, and Dirty Honey. This was a great mix of rock legends and bands on the rise. Some of the stand out new acts were Hyro The Hero, Amigo The Devil, Light The Torch and Wilson. The Crystal Method filled in for The Prodigy, offering a change of pace. Amy Lee and Evanescence returned to full on rock mode after touring with piano and orchestra. Killswitch Engage put on a breathtaking performance that was sadly cut short due to the impending lightning. Korn closed out a long day with an inspired performance.

Epicenter Festival — a new 3-day destination music experience from premier independent U.S. music festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents — brings a massive music lineup to its 2019 debut, with over 65 music artists performing on four stages, led by Foo Fighters, Tool and Korn. The inaugural festival takes place in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic region, at the newly created Rockingham Festival Grounds in Richmond County, North Carolina on Friday, May 10, Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Epicenter will also feature sets from Rob Zombie, Judas Priest, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, The Cult, 311, Evanescence, Bush, +Live+ and dozens more. The expansive Rockingham Festival Grounds, being developed in coordination with Rockingham Dragway, The Rock (Rockingham Speedway), and other local land owners, promise nonstop entertainment, extensive camping options, and no curfew.

The members of Korn explain, “There are many defining moments that dramatically mark a band’s history, and one such moment in time happened in North Carolina with Korn. NC holds a special place in Korn‘s heart, as we unexpectedly reunited with our old friend Head. It’s been a great 6+ years with Head back in Korn and we look forward to rocking NC again with Foo Fighters, Tool and many other great bands.”

In addition to performances from top music artists, and various onsite attractions, attendees will enjoy a variety of local and regional food and beverage offerings provided by DWP‘s affiliate concessionaire, Southern Hospitality Concessions LLC.

Fans 21+ can enjoy multiple specialty curated beverage experiences. Varietals from Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyards (owned by Maynard James Keenan, co-founder of international recording acts Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer) will be available at the Caduceus Wine Garden. Experience abounds at the Heavy Tiki Bar (a tropical oasis filled with killer cocktails and shade). Fans can also enjoy a large variety of local and regional brews at the Epicenter Craft Beer Garden.

• Single Day General Admission: starting at $79.50 plus fees

Camping at Epicenter will let patrons keep the rock n’ roll party going all through the weekend and will set this festival apart from other U.S. rock shows. Camping spots are connected to the festival grounds and include perks like access to showers, portable restrooms, food and drink vendors, charging stations, information and medical services, as well as a Thursday night pre-show party. Campers will also have late night access to Rockingham Village, an impressive promenade featuring food, drinks, merch shopping, entertainment, art and activities until 2:00 AM daily. Rockingham Village will be conveniently located immediately in front of the venue, adjacent to the North Premium campgrounds. Camping options will include immersive, Premium Spaces on the North Side of the site as well as free options in the South Side campgrounds.

Rockingham Village at Epicenter will be open for extended hours to allow fans to eat, drink, shop and see performing artists before and after the main event. Featured vendors will include festival merchandise, artist merchandise, lockers for rent, lifestyle shopping booths, a full General Store, coffee shop, craft beer at Headbangers Beer Bar, Caduceus wine bar, breakfast vendors for campers, as well as late night food served after the main venue closes. The Village will also have a stage featuring cover bands and Hellzapoppin Circus SideShow performances throughout the weekend.

Festival producer Danny Wimmer notes, “The creation of the ‘Epicenter of rock n’ roll’ in the heart of North Carolina gives us the ability to expand on the festival experience with enhanced camping amenities, nighttime entertainment with no curfew, and expanded food and beverage offerings, all highlighted by a massive music lineup covering the spectrum of rock, metal and alternative rock music.”

Danny Hayes, CEO of Danny Wimmer Presents, explains the development of the Rockingham Festival Grounds: “We have a long-term arrangement with all of the property owners: The Rock (Rockingham Speedway), Richmond County, Rockingham Dragway and other local land owners. We’re working together to define the long-term vision for the festival area. For 2019, the primary festival grounds will be in a grassy area connected to the Rockingham Dragway. The area across the street surrounding The Rock (Speedway) will be utilized for patron parking and camping.”

The ninth annual edition of Florida’s Biggest Rock Experience will take place Friday, May 3, Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, Florida and will feature must-see headlining sets from some of the biggest names in rock including Tool, Korn, Rob Zombie, Incubus, The Prodigy, Shinedown and Judas Priest—making their Rockville debut.
