Welcome To Rockville kicks off the Danny Wimmer Presents festival season this week with its biggest year in the festivals 10+ year history, featuring a new 5th stage and 50 more bands added this year. The 13th Welcome To Rockville features its most powerful collection of artists yet, including headliners Mötley Crüe & Disturbed (Thursday), Limp Bizkit & Jelly Roll (Friday), Foo Fighters & Queens of the Stone Age (Saturday) and Slipknot & Evanescence (Sunday), along with Judas Priest, Greta Van Fleet, Falling In Reverse, A Day To Remember, Breaking Benjamin, Bad Omens, The Offspring, Mudvayne, Koe Wetzel, Stone Temple Pilots, Primus, Cypress Hill, Sum 41, a rare appearance by Mr. Bungle, and many others. BLACKENED Burger Bar: DWP has announced the debut of the Metal Burger Box at the BLACKENED Burger Bar, exclusively at Welcome To Rockville. Crafted in collaboration with BLACKENED Whiskey, renowned celebrity Chef Chris Santos, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Metallica, and Welcome To Rockville, the BLACKENED Burger Bar promises to be an extraordinary fusion of exceptional spirits, culinary innovation, and the raw energy of rock music. Featuring signature burgers that embody the spirit of rock and roll, the BLACKENED Burger Bar invites fans to embark on a culinary journey unlike any other. Just Add Milk Cereal Bar: Starting Thursday morning, Welcome To Rockville campers will be able to mix and match the cereals they grew up on with fresh, ice-cold Florida milk or indulge in a fresh scoop of ice cream while vintage TVs blast out Saturday morning cartoons, making it a pit stop for nostalgia and flavor-packed fun. The activation is located within the festival campgrounds by the General Store and Pit Stop #1. Milk and ice cream will be provided by Florida Dairy Farmers. All proceeds will go to Second Harvest Food Bank, who is also a beneficiary of the post-festival food donations via Musically Fed.

“Florida Dairy Farmers is proud to partner with Welcome To Rockville to fuel campers with local, delicious, and nutritious milk and ice cream at the Just Add Milk Cereal Bar. All proceeds will go to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida to help feed kids, families, and seniors who are experiencing hunger in our community. Welcome To Rockville 2024 Expands to 5 Stages and 150 Bands Led By Foo Fighters, Mötley Crüe, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit first appeared on Game On Media.

The 5^th annual Blue Ridge Rock Festival took place in Alton, Virginia on September 8 – 11, 2022. Day one was headlined by Ghost, with notable support coming from a wide spectrum of artists, including Ice Cube, Anthrax, Daughtry, Jelly Roll, In This Moment, Stone Temple Pilots and Nothing More.

The massive 4 day rock music festival tried to recover from the logistical nightmares of 2021 by moving to a new site near the Virginia International Raceway. While the venue was a slight improvement over the remote park used last year, I never saw any racetrack, facilities or parking lots.

The parking was over 5 miles from the event, and there did not seem to be nearly enough buses. Fans could be seen waiting in massive lines to leave the parking field, to enter the venue, and to return to their vehicles after the show. The third and fourth stages were miles from the side-by-side main stages, up and down big hills which left little time to move between sections and actually see all of the bands.

Despite all of the hardships and difficulties, fans were excited to see an incredible lineup, representing every genre of rock and roll. The overall production and sound were on point. The only problem with such an extensive collection of bands was deciding which ones to see, and which sadly had to be missed. While the two main stages alternated acts, it was a long walk to the other side, and making that trek meant missing someone else.

I definitely missed more acts than I saw. The highlights of the day for me were Ghost, Anthrax, Ice Cube, Daughtry, Nothing More, Spiritbox, Fire From The Gods and a rare reunion show from Shadows Fall. Blue Ridge Rock Festival definitely goes out of their way to deliver special shows, such as reunion shows and rare appearances.

I managed to capture photographs of the aforementioned highlights, as well as A Skylit Drive, Unearth, Vampires Everywhere, Pop Evil, Bad Wolves, and In This Moment.

I would have loved to see other bands, but there are just too many stages and too many bands. Among the bands I would have loved to experience were Islander, Palisades, Red, Brand Of Sacrifice, Hawthorne Heights, Hinder, We Came As Romans, Cannibal Corpse, Sleeping With Sirens, Stone Temple Pilots and Jelly Roll.

It may have been better to book fewer artists, and invest more money into supporting the fans, including more buses, more facilities and more showers for the campers. BRRF bills itself as being “Fan-Driven”, so hopefully they will continue to listen to, and support, their dedicated fans.

Tickets and campsites are already selling well for next year, proving that die hard metal fans will endure anything to experience the power of live music, and the feeling of connecting with other people who are just as mental about metal as they are. Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2022 has announced their full lineup and daily schedules, and we cannot wait for this event to start its engines. With the world-class lineup in place, plans for the new venue at Virginia International Raceway are taking shape. Mudvayne completed their special festival run of reunion shows, playing everything their fans wanted to hear.

Alien Weaponry is the top up-and-coming metal band, hailing from New Zealand and incorporating the indigenous Māori culture and language into their songs.

Mastodon continues to excel as a powerful live band.

Sunday was definitely the heaviest day of the festival, with Code Orange leading the way on the Rockvillian stage.

Goodbye June warmed up the crowd, including crowd-surfing Santa, with their soulful blues under the early warm sunshine.

Jelly Roll put on an emotional show, blending rock, country and hip-hop with a DJ and a full band.

Fire From The Gods brought their unique style of rock, with AJ Channer inspiring the crowd with his lyrics and his reminder to ignore politics and religion, and instead look to your own heart and mind for guidance.

Louder Than Life, the World’s Largest Rock ‘N’ Roll Whiskey Festival, returns to Louisville, KY even bigger and better in its fifth year, with festival producers delivering the most spectacular music lineup since the festival began in 2014. Louder Than Life will feature the Danny Wimmer Presents debut of quintessential rock band Guns N’ Roses (in their first appearance since performing in Hawaii in December 2018), the return of chart-topping, festival favorites Slipknot and Disturbed, a reunited Staind (in their first public performance in 5 years), Godsmack, Rob Zombie, A Day To Remember, Ice Cube, Marilyn Manson, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Halestorm, and many more.

Produced by premier independent festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents, Louder Than Life will be held at its new home at Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center on Friday, September 27, Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29.

Louder Than Life will feature more than 50 music acts, with performances on three stages, along with award-winning bourbons, whiskey, spirits, craft beer, and the best food Louisville has to offer. Festival attendees will also enjoy a variety of onsite food and beverage experiences, as well as sponsor activations that celebrate the bourbon culture and culinary heritage of this unique American city.

“We wouldn’t be living up to the name Louder Than Life if we didn’t come back bigger and badder than ever, giving fans something they can’t see anywhere else,” says festival producer Danny Wimmer. “Getting Staind back together and plugged in on the main stage is something that I’ve been working on for years. These are songs that need to be heard, that fans have been dying to hear — Staind has been one of the most requested bands on our socials, and it’s an honor to be bringing their music back for the fans at Louder Than Life.”

Wimmer continues, “Slipknot has always had some of the most loyal, rabid fans in rock, but now they are at that pivotal moment when they’ve crossed over into iconic status; Disturbed has had their best touring numbers to date this year; then top it off with one of the biggest rock bands of all time in Guns N’ Roses…this year is our most massive lineup yet.”

The festival’s centerpiece, Kroger’s Big Bourbon Bar presented by Louisville Courier Journal, will feature more than two dozen hand-selected bourbons from top distilleries, and a unique opportunity to enjoy bourbons and exclusive one-time specialty cocktails from 1792, Angel’s Envy, Barrell Bourbon, Coopers’ Craft, Elijah Craig, Four Roses, Jeptha Creed Four Grain Bourbon, Kentucky Peerless, Michter’s, Old Forester, Rebel Yell, StoneHammer, Wild Turkey and more to be announced.

Fred Minnick’s Mini Bar–hosted by the Louder Than Life bourbon curator, bourbon author/expert, and Amazon Prime host (Bourbon Up)–will showcase craft selections from Louisville’s world-renowned distilleries. Acclaimed Louisville whiskey bar The Silver Dollar will operate The Hunter’s Club, where attendees can find vintage bourbons dating as far back as the 1930s, as well as contemporary collectibles.
