Milwaukee Metal Fest 2023 Announces Dates And Lineup first appeared on Game On Media.

The 5th annual Blue Ridge Rock Festival took place in Alton, Virginia on September 8 – 11, 2022. Day 2 was a hot one, with fans up early to bake in the sun and bask in the sweet and savory sounds of a wide variety of artists. The day started at high noon with the bluesy southern chill of Blacktop Mojo, and ended with the frantic aggression of Mudvayne.

As the fans learned the day before, difficult choices had to be made, with stellar acts performing on either end of the massive site. The two side-by-side main stages, sponsored by Monster Energy and ZYN, definitely had enough star power to hold down their end of the festival.

Blacktop Mojo, Zero 9:36, Saving Abel, Buckcherry, Candlebox, Badflower, Sevendust, Underoath, Theory Of A Deadman, Halestorm, Gojira, A Day To Remember and Mudvayne delivered one punch after another.

If that wasn’t enough for you, things got even heavier on the opposite end of the event. The URW stage and Fan-Driven stage hit even harder than the main stages.

Alice Cooper, Down, Hatebreed, Bad Omens, Memphis May Fire, In Flames, All That Remains, Whitechapel, Slaughter To Prevail, Fit For An Autopsy and Insane Clown Posse gave it all, and could have made a fine festival lineup on their own. There really still are too many stages and too many heavy hitters at BRRF. It is impossible to catch everyone that you want to see.

Several times throughout the day, the bands on stage stopped to show, in order to alert security that a fan was down and needed help. Kevin Martin was the first to stop mid-song, and urgently direct security and medical personnel to get out into the pits to aid a concertgoer. Showing how classy and professional they are, Martin directed the band to pick up the song at the guitar solo, once the injured patron was safely taken away for medical attention.

Tickets and campsites are already selling well for next year, proving that die hard metal fans will endure anything to experience the power of live music, and the feeling of connecting with other people who are just as mental about metal as they are. Hatebreed‘s seminal classic Perseverance turned 20 years old this year. It remains one of the most important and impactful albums of the new millennium. Of course the Grammy-nominated, Connecticut hardcore crew is going back on the road to celebrate with the most brutal breakdowns and anthemic singalongs the scene has ever known.

“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the Perseverance album hit,” says singer Jamey Jasta. “We’re overdue for a headline tour so these shows will be ones for the ages. Show up early and support the great line up of sick bands!”

The “20 Years of Perseverance” Tour kicks off on October 27 in Virginia Beach and runs through November 20 in San Diego.

Gatecreeper will appear from October 27 through November 15, while Bleeding Through will support from November 17 through November 20.  Bodysnatcher and Dying Wish will open all dates.

Hatebreed Announce “20 Years of Perseverance” 2022 Tour first appeared on Game On Media.

Anthrax and Black Label Society will bring some of the finest thrash and heavy metal to 24 North American cities during a five-week 2022 summer tour. Both bands will play headline sets. Hatebreed, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Perseverance album, will Special Guest. Black Label Society and Anthrax have shared festival stages and one-off shows numerous times, but this marks the very first time these two bands will tour together.

“Zakk has been a friend and an inspiration to me as a guitar player, songwriter, and beard grower since we met in 1988,” said Anthrax’s Scott Ian. “We’ve had the privilege to share festival stages with Zakk and BLS around the world, and it’s always been a head-banging mutual admiration society between the two bands. Now we get to share the stage every night on what is easily going to be the heaviest tour of 2022 — the ultimate pounding one-two combination of bands. Oh, and did I mention we’ve got fucking Hatebreed with us as our special guests? Holy crap, it’s going to be the night of 1000 crushing riffs. I can’t wait to see you all on the road.”

The multi Gold and Platinum, six-time GRAMMY-nominated Anthrax spent a good portion of 2021 celebrating the band’s landmark 40th birthday. The card-carrying Big Four members’ anniversary was the subject of an 11-week series of video testimonials from artists like Chuck D., Dave Grohl, Dave Mustaine, Kerry King, Norman Reedus, Rob Zombie, Robert Trujillo, Slash, and others. Anthrax teamed up with Z-2 Comics for the “Among The Living” graphic novel that was inspired by their landmark 1987 album and released their high-end bourbon whiskey, “Anthrax XL.” But, due to COVID, the one thing Anthrax couldn’t do, was tour, tour, tour, so the band fully intends to extend the celebration with this North American trek. Fans can expect Anthrax — Joey Belladonna/vocals, Scott Ian/rhythm guitar, Frank Bello/bass, Charlie Benante/drums, and Jon Donais/guitar — to draw from all four decades — fan favorites and deep cuts —for their nightly setlist.

Everything about Black Label Society begins with the riff from their debut studio album, Sonic Brew (1999), to their critically-acclaimed eleventh studio album, Doom Crew Inc. (2021). A dedicated disciple of Zeppelin, Sabbath, and Deep Purple, frontman Zakk Wylde looks to the massive guitar hooks in classics as guiding lights. Their latest album, Doom Crew Inc., finds larger-than-life guitarist Zakk trading solos and twin-guitar parts with guitarist Dario Lorina, backed by the rumble of longtime bassist John “J.D.” DeServio and powerhouse drummer Jeff Fabb. In 100 Days, Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2022 Will Blow Your Mind first appeared on Game On Media.

After getting its start with 2 events in Concord, Virginia, followed up by the Covid-delayed logistical nightmare of last year’s massive 4 day event in Danville, Virginia, the Blue Ridge Rock Festival is finally getting a new home which promises to deliver on its promise as America’s premier fan-driven rock and roll experience.

This year’s event will take place over the extended weekend of September 8 – September 11, 2022. The venue hosting this event is the world-class road racing track Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia. Fans who endured the troubles of the past in order to witness the greatest collection of live rock and roll, and are ready to come back for more, will be rewarded with a location that is set up for large crowds, camping and entertainment.

Welcome To Rockville campers get the ultimate experience, spending five days on the festival field right in the middle of all the action and with the quickest access to all the stages. Megadeth brought the “Metal Tour of the Year” to the 2021 Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Danville, Virginia on September 11, 2021. Megadeth closed out the staylit stage. Hatebreed, Trivium and Lamb Of God had the most intense crowds, surfers and mosh pits of the entire 4 day festival, over on the URW Community Federal Credit Union stage. These shows were the high points of the hot and sweaty day 3 of this cathartic shared rock experience.

Megadeth is working on a new album and featured songs from their previous stellar release “Dystopia”. Dave Mustaine can still bring it, despite numerous recent health issues, so catch this show while you still can.

DWP Aftershock 2021 Lineup Announced: Metallica, My Chemical Romance, Rancid, Social Distortion, The Offspring, Limp Bizkit, Rise Against, Volbeat & More October 7-10, 2021 In Sacramento, CA first appeared on Game On Media.

The annual DIMEBASH is an all-star jam honoring the life and legacy of “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, the late co-founder and guitarist of Pantera and Damageplan, and the unofficial kickoff party for the NAMM convention. Jose Mangin and Riki Rachtman co-hosted the event on January 16, 2020 at The Observatory OC in Santa Ana, California.

Over 5 incredible hours, artists from dozens of bands rotated on and off the stage, performing 40 songs, including Pantera classics and other legendary tunes. Sadly, this event now also honors the late Vinnie Paul, drummer of Pantera, Damageplan and Hellyeah, and Dimebag’s brother. Both men were more than stellar musicians, they were incredible human beings who brought light into so many lives. It is no surprise that their musical peers and friends show up in droves to honor their memory by playing their songs, and sharing their love for these two giants.

The one-of-a-kind lineup featured members of Accept, Act Of Defiance, Anthrax, Armored Saint, Bad Wolves, Bad Guys Wear Black, Broken Hope, Butcher Babies, Cody Jinks, Crowbar, Cypress Hill, Dylan Rose, Foo Fighters, Grim Reaper, Hatebreed, Hellyeah, In Flames, In This Moment, Iron Maidens, Kill Devil Hill, King Diamond, King’s X, Kyng, Lamb of God, Lita Ford, Pearl, Prong, Sebastian Bach, Sepultura, Stone Sour, The Haunted, Testament, Tyr, Vio-Lence and more, including the debut of Revel Ian, son of Scott Ian and Pearl Aday.

Jose “Metal Ambassador” Mangin kicked things off on lead vocals, performing the second song from all over the crowd, as fans surfed him from the front of the house all the way back to the stage. He also shared emotional speeches about the power of music and love and gratitude. Riki Rachtman also told stories from his days on MTV’s Headbangers Ball, where he was forced to call him “Diamond” Darrell instead of “Dimebag” due to outrageous censorship.

Ron Williams of RONZ WORLD Custom Painted Guitars delivered yet another amazing original piece, which was auctioned off, as the winner was chosen by Rita Haney, Dime’s longtime girlfriend and keeper of his legacy. Proceeds from the event will benefit music education and animal rescues.

After the show, VIP guests were able to join the artists backstage to enjoy Back Beat BBQ, which none other than Dave Grohl himself had been cooking since 8:00 that morning. This was the best pulled pork and ribs that I have ever eaten. Is there nothing this man cannot do? All in all, it was an emotional, empowering evening of entertainment and excess.

Hatebreed celebrated their 25th Anniversary at the House of Blues in San Diego, California on March 7, 2019. Opening acts were Bleeding Through, Strife and Asesino. The Hatebreed 25th Anniversary Tour kicks off in full in April (see dates at https://www.hatebreed.com/), but this special show in San Diego was a warm up, as well as a warning of what is to come. The band has created a ton of hardcore hits over the years, and they played as many of them as they could slam into the setlist. The crowd was insanely intense and loving every minute of it.

Jamey Jasta delivered his passionate lyrics with a scream and a smile, allowing the crowd to release their emotions in a shared catharsis. Matt Byrne on drums and Chris Beattie on bass are beasts, allowing Frank Novinec and Wayne Lozinak to shred. Hatebreed showed why they continue to lead the charge after 25 years. They simply came out and destroyed everything.

Acclaimed tattoo artist Jack Rudy (Good Time Charlie’s Tattooland) described MUSINK as, “Without a doubt…the Premier Tattoo Music Show in California!!!”

The Low ‘N’ Slow Car Show presented by Famous Stars and Strapsreturns to MUSINK, and will feature the best selection of custom rides, American classics and lowriders in Southern California on display, all handpicked by Travis Barker.
