After battling COVID-19, and being in a coma for twelve days, Death Angel drummer Will Carroll is returning to GIMME RADIO for his weekly show Fool Metal Jacket today, Monday, April 13th, at 5:00pm EST/2:00pm PST with a special episode entitled Coma.
Comments Carroll, “From when I announced on GIMME back in March that I was very sick and had COVID-19, through when I came out of the coma and jumped into the live chat to say ‘I’m Back!,’ the support and love from my listeners on Gimme Radio has been amazing. These guys were really pulling for me the entire time. I’m so thankful for the whole Fool Metal Jacket family!”

Carroll’s return episode retells his journey from contracting the virus while Death Angel was in Europe on the road with Testament and Exodus as part of The Bay Strikes Back 2020 tour through his hospital stay, coma, rehab, and, finally, homecoming. As GIMME RADIO Program Director, Brian Turner, says: “Will takes us on a linear tour of the events — musically of course. He’s rightfully earned the GIMME crown of master assembler of themes. Will rules at heavy metal radio and we are so happy he’s back and raging.”
As always Will Carroll will be in the live chat during his show where his fans and listeners can ask him questions about his ordeal and wish him well. GIMME will also be making a tip jar available during the show so listeners can support Carroll with the medical expenses incurred while in the hospital. Donations can also be made HERE at any time.

Band Captures Sobering Imagery of Today’s World In Presenting Their
Hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada As It Goes Dark

Las Vegas, NV — OTHERWISE took to the streets to capture a picture of Las Vegas no one inhabiting the Earth thought they would ever witness.  As the entire civilization across planet Earth navigates towards a better day, the band took the path of continuing to create in support of their recent release DEFY. Today, they present a new video for the second single “Crossfire”.

Singer Adrian Patrick shares, “One of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do, as performing artists, was cancel our Defy Division Tour. It’s left us wondering how we’ll be able to feed our families, if we’ll still even have a career after this.  We know that millions of others across the globe are facing the same dire prospect.  Yet it’s not just jobs & money that we are losing… people are fighting for their lives, right now.  The whole world has been caught in the Crossfire. We never thought we’d live to see the heartbreaking day when the bright lights and dancing fountains are turned off in the Neon Desert.  But we are all in this together, so let’s keep our heads down low & hopes up high, for humanity. This pandemic doesn’t discriminate… and neither does rock n roll. Stay safe, stay home, stay strong.”

On the release of the lead single “Lifted,” Adrian Patrick offered:

“We’re currently living in very divisive and polarizing times, but what both sides of the aisle need to realize is that the left wing and the right wing are part of the same damn bird. Thankfully we still have the unifying power of rock n roll with the hope we can all learn to fly together.”

As American society comes together in practicing social distancing to reach a moment of containment, and support one another in a manner that potentially is unprecedented, politicians alongside the entire populace will hopefully step forward united as the singer envisioned with hope before the world was turned upside down.

The Las Vegas quartet—Adrian Patrick [lead vocals], Ryan Patrick [guitar, vocals], Nick Bedrosian [bass, vocals] and Joe Conner [drums]—push the boundaries of their signature style in terms of both songcraft and sonic experimentation alike on their latest studio album DEFY.  Since their self-titled independent debut in 2006, they unleashed a string of fan favorite albums—True Love Never Dies [2012], Peace At All Costs [2014], and Sleeping Lions [2017]. Along the way, they tallied 40 million-plus streams and shared the stage with everyone from Stone Sour to Papa Roach in addition to shutting down Welcome To Rockville, Rocklahoma, and Shiprocked!  When we all come through this together, they’ll be back on the stage bringing energy, entertainment and inevitably some level of joy to all assembled market by market across the planet.

All Within My Hands COVID-19 Response

All Within My Hands Donates For Covid-19 Relief

In the wake of the spread of the Coronavirus, the most vulnerable people in our communities need help now more than ever.  All Within My Hands is reaching out with four grants totaling $350,000 to organizations dedicated to assisting those hit hard by the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.

Feeding America

Earlier this week, we told you about Feeding America’s recently launched COVID-19 Response Fund as they continue to work with their network of local food banks reacting to the specific needs of individual communities.  As the need continues to grow, our local food banks are suffering from a lack of volunteers, donations and food distribution assistance from their normal channels. AWMH has pledged $100,000 to this fund, read more about the response here:  https://www.feedingamerica.org/take-action/coronavirus.

Direct Relief

As of last week, Direct Relief has responded to 22 countries, providing more than 40 tons of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers on the front lines.  Direct Relief will continue to expand and diversify its efforts as the secondary effects of this pandemic on the healthcare system become more evident.  Direct Relief is in constant collaboration and communication with allies in the battle to manage this outbreak through its relationships across global, international and national agencies such as the WHO, the US Dept of Health and Human Services, the CDC, ASPR, State Offices of emergency management, etc.  AWMH has pledged $100,000 to this fund, read more here:  https://www.directrelief.org/emergency/coronavirus-outbreak/

Crew Nation

As you all know, Metallica’s live shows—all live music in general—would not be possible without the countless crew members working behind the scenes.  As COVID-19 puts the entire live music industry on pause, we want to extend a helping hand to the touring and venue crews who make their living show-to-show.  Our partners at Live Nation have committed $10 million to their Crew Nation initiative, contributing an initial $5 million to the fund, then matching the next $5 million donated by artists, fans and employees.  We’re happy to pledge $100,000 to this fund to help those who make it all happen for us year in and year out on the road.  Read more here:  https://www.livenationentertainment.com/crewnation/

The USBG National Charity Foundation

In addition to the hard-working crews who support us on tour, we rely heavily on the worldwide hospitality industry.  As restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, bars and other food and beverage providers have been forced to close or shift to delivery/pick-up operations, hundreds of thousands of workers are suddenly without jobs.  We’re pledging $50,000 to the Bartender Emergency Assistance Program (BEAP) to assist qualified bartenders, bar backs, and bar servers in need of financial assistance.  Read more here:  https://www.usbgfoundation.org/covid-19-response

One Final Note

As the COVID-19 pandemic has sent us retreating to our homes, Metallica has launched the “Metallica Mondays” streaming series: Each Monday at 5:00 pm PST they’ll broadcast a full concert from the Metallica video archives directly to your couch via Facebook Live and YouTube.  Generous donations to AWMH from fans enjoying the weekly series have already amounted to $15,000 and we’ll continue to raise funds during the weekly streams to support those impacted by COVID-19.  More info here: https://www.metallica.com/news/2020-03-27-metallica-mondays.html

We know this is the hardest of times for many of you, but if you would like to support any of these organizations, please feel free reach out directly to our incredibly dedicated partners as the needs are very wide-ranging; every dollar helps.
