On March 12, 2020, a sold out crowd witnessed an intense live rock show, as Static-X performed their debut album “Wisconsin Death Trip” and more at the Brick By Brick in San Diego, California. Society 1 opened the show. Mystery vocalist / guitarist Xer0 performed in place of the late Wayne Static as he has for the past year, along with the original Wisconsin Death Trip lineup of bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay, and guitarist Koichi Fukuda.

This may end up being the last live concert many attend for a little while, so everyone took advantage and filled the small club. There was no way to observe “social distancing” and the crowd moved and sang along with joy and passion. The only thing that seemed different was the fact that Corona had been removed from the beer menu, although that may have been coincidental. That left plenty of local San Diego craft brews and metal themed options. About half of the upcoming shows at Brick By Brick have been postponed or outright canceled, which means the other half are still planned to go on. Swedish heavy metal outfit HAMMERFALL are currently on their World Dominion Tour in North America. Their stop at the Brick By Brick in San Diego, California on September 8, 2019 served as a precursor to the band’s fall tour alongside Sabaton in North America. This summer, HammerFall released their eleventh full-length studio record, Domination. The record has been well received in both Europe and stateside; performing well in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany and Sweden. It is a powerful, melodic celebration of guitar rock in all of its glory. Their enthusiastic fan base soaked up every ounce of epic energy, rocking out to the galloping riffs, and chanting along with the huge choruses.
