Aftershock returns to Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA October 10-13 for its 12^th year with its biggest lineup yet. The 4-day destination festival will feature the only U.S. festival play for Iron Maiden, the exclusive West Coast performance for Slayer – one of only three shows in nearly 5 years – Slipknot as one of the number one requested bands, and the first Aftershock appearance for Mötley Crüe, making it an event not to be missed!

The ultimate destination for hard rock and heavy metal enthusiasts will include back-to-back headlining performances from Slayer and Pantera (Thursday); Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch (Friday); Iron Maiden and Judas Priest (Saturday); and Mötley Crüe and Disturbed (Sunday). The West Coast’s Biggest Rock Festival, Aftershock, grows even more in 2023 with its most packed lineup yet offering 95-plus bands over four full days, led by headliners Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold and Korn. The destination event, held at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA on October 5-8, builds on last year’s record-setting success including an audience of 160,000 music fans and bringing in nearly $30 million to the region.

In addition to the must-see headliners, the weekend’s curated lineup of rock and metal heavyweights also includes Godsmack, Pantera, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, Limp Bizkit, Megadeth, Rancid, Turnstile, 311, The Cult, AFI, I Prevail, Dance Gavin Dance and many more. Returning as host for the second year is Jose “Metal Ambassador” Mangin.

As the music industry looks to bring live events back to eager fans in 2021, leading independent live entertainment producer and promoter Danny Wimmer Presents is excited to announce its upcoming festival calendar for the year. The event lineup includes the return of fan favorites Louder Than Life and Welcome To Rockville, alongside the previously announced Aftershock, and new to the DWP family, Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival.

Louder Than Life, the largest rock festival in America, will take place September 23-26, 2021 at Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky and will be adding a Thursday night celebration event to kick off the weekend. All current pass holders will receive admission to the newly added Thursday night kickoff celebration for free.

Welcome To Rockville will return with an expanded 4-day festival weekend that furthers its reputation as Florida’s biggest rock experience, and will move to a new weekend for 2021, November 11-14. Rockville will also have a new home, relocating to the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Due to the festival date change from May to November, current Welcome To Rockville ticketholders will have the opportunity to request a refund or use their passes for the upcoming November festival. All fans who defer their passes to Rockville 2021 will receive complimentary access to the newly added 4^th day.

Danny Wimmer Presents is also pleased to announce a new partnership formed with the creators of the fan-favorite Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival. Inkcarceration is scheduled for July 23-25 at the famous Ohio State Reformatory (aka “Shawshank State Prison” from The Shawshank Redemption) in Mansfield, Ohio.

Information on band lineups, ticket information and on sale dates for Inkcarceration, Louder Than Life and Welcome To Rockville 2021 will be coming this spring. In addition, Danny Wimmer Presents has partnered with Sixthman to conquer land and sea in 2022 with an immersive 5-day cruise and private island festival in Harvest Caye, Belize, from February 16 – 21, 2022. More details, including lineup and reservations will be coming in the next few months.

The previously announced Aftershock, the West Coast’s Biggest Rock Festival, which has sold out for the last five consecutive years, will be bigger and better than ever, taking place October 7-10 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, California. Aftershock 2021 will be headlined by Metallica (performing two unique sets, one on Friday and one on Sunday) and My Chemical Romance (Saturday), who were both confirmed for the sold-out postponed 2020 event. These are our longest running and most geographically diverse festivals. As previously announced, Aftershock 2021 will be headlined by Metallica (performing two unique sets, one on Friday and one on Sunday) and My Chemical Romance (Saturday), who were both confirmed for the sold-out postponed 2020 event. Dear Metallica Family,

It pains me to write this, but I have to let all of you know that I cannot make it to Sonic Temple in Columbus and Louder Than Life in Louisville this year. As part of my continuing effort to get and stay healthy, I have critical recovery events on those weekends that cannot be moved. I apologize to all of our fans who have bought tickets for these festivals. We are working with the festival promoters to provide for refunds or exchanges. My intent with this statement is saying “I apologize” to each one of you. The reality is that I have not prioritized my health in the past year of touring and I now know that my mental health comes first. That might sound like a no-brainer for most of you but I didn’t want to let the Metallica team/family down and, I alone, completely compromised myself.

Looking on the brighter side, my therapy is going well. It was absolutely necessary for me to look after my mental, physical, and spiritual health.

I want to stress that the band will play all other announced 2020 shows.

I am looking forward to getting back to playing and seeing all our great South American fans in April. And, of course, playing Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome to Rockville in Daytona and Aftershock in Sacramento. We will still play two unique sets at each of these festivals.

Beyond 2020, I am optimistic about the blessings I have been given and what the future brings. I appreciate all the great prayers and support from everyone since I went into rehab last September. Like the moth into the flame, being human in this career has its huge challenges and can be difficult. Your understanding helps the healing.

Metallica reassures its fans that Metallica will appear at Danny Wimmer Presents festivals Epicenter (May 1 & 3), Welcome to Rockville (May 8 & 10) and Aftershock (October 9 & 11) as scheduled.

Multiplatinum and Grammy winning bands Red Hot Chili Peppers (recently reunited with guitarist John Frusciante) and Tool have been announced as new headliners for Sonic Temple, joining Saturday’s multiplatinum, Grammy winning headliner, Slipknot for the May 15 – 17 festival at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline Friday, May 15 while Tool will headline Sunday, May 17.

Aftershock wrapped the biggest weekend in the history of the California rock festival with 97,500 in attendance during the sold-out event, which expanded to three days for the first time, October 11-13 at Sacramento’s Discovery Park.

The lineup featured some of the biggest noisemakers in music in 2019, including Tool, who performed their first show since releasing their chart-topping new album, Fear Inoculum, in August. Their Aftershock set included live debuts of the title track and “Pneuma.” Slipknot, also debuting atop the Billboard 200 album chart in recent weeks with We Are Not Your Kind, delivered their final show of 2019, while blink-182–touring in support of their new album Nine–made their Danny Wimmer Presents festival debut.

Staind continued their reunion tour (which began at Louder Than Life last month) with a fan-favorite set, and Korn, Rob Zombie, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, Marilyn Manson, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Dropkick Murphys and BABYMETAL were among more than 50 bands that made Aftershock an unforgettable concert experience. In addition to the headliners, several buzzworthy up-and-coming bands across the rock spectrum were present during the weekend, with highlights including rousing sets from Mongolian folk metal troupe The Hu and hip-hop/metal hybrid act Ghostemane.

Fans attending Aftershock enjoyed the Monster Energy Experience (which included band autograph signings), The Music Experience, Take Me Home Animal Rescue, Dyin 2 Live/Fxck Cancer, Caduceus Wine Garden (featuring varietals from the winery owned by Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan), Slipknot Iowa Whiskey No. 9 and the Boilermaker Bar featuring Metallica’s Blackened Whiskey and Enter Night Pilsner, among other onsite experiences.

Sacramento’s KXTV ABC 10 said of Aftershock, “The festival brings together metalheads from around the area with the best riffs the heavy metal and hard rock scene has to offer. The three-day festival is crammed with enough food and music for just about anyone’s appetite.”

Heavy Consequence added, “When it was all said and done, the 2019 Aftershock Festival was bigger than ever, and a rousing success. It’s becoming one of the biggest California rock festivals, and with Metallica set to headline two of the three nights of Aftershock 2020, it may become the biggest.”

Tickets are already on sale for Aftershock 2020, with Metallica headlining two nights at the ninth annual festival. Danny Wimmer Presents announced during a special press conference last week that the music icons will exclusively headline all five of the independent producer’s rock festivals in 2020 in a unique collaboration unprecedented for any American festival promoter or band, ending with Aftershock during the weekend of October 9-11. Metallica will deliver a unique set list for each performance. Danny Wimmer also announced that the company is donating $25,000 to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation, as well as contributing 25 cents from every 2020 ticket sold through November 19^th to the charitable organization.
