Judas Priest is celebrating over 50 Heavy Metal Years on their fall 2022 tour, with Queensrÿche in support. The metal gods stopped at an old favorite venue,  Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY on October 18, 2022.

The crowd spanned many generations, and the set list was designed to please all of them. With an extensive catalog to choose from, the only issue would be which songs to leave out.

They chose songs from 2018’s excellent “Firepower”, 2014’s “Redeemer of Souls” featuring the debut of lead guitarist Richie Faulkner, 2005’s “Angel of Retribution”, sadly only one track from 1990 masterpiece “Painkiller”, 1984’s “Defenders of the Faith”, half of 1982’s legendary smash “Screaming for Vengeance”, 1981’s “Point of Entry”, and 1980’s breakthrough classic “British Steel”.

They also dug deep to please the long-time fans, going into their 1970’s catalog, pulling from “Sad Wings of Destiny”, “Stained Class” and “Killing Machine”. All of the selections sounded amazing, with the band as tight as can be, and Rob Halford hitting all of the notes with power and class.

In addition to Mr. Halford, original bassist Ian Hill is still kicking arse and taking names. Long time (30+ years) drummer Scott Travis pounds it out with powerful flair. New guitarists Richie Faulkner and Andy Sneap carry on the immortal legacy of K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton, delivering the goods with reverence.
