Yesterday asks us to imagine a world where The Beatles never existed. An event occurs sending Himesh Patel’s struggling musician character to the hospital, where he awakens to discover that he appears to be the only person on earth who knows The Beatles and their legendary songs. He begins to sing them and people believe them to be his own creations. The true stars of this movie are the timeless songs that everyone knows, no matter their age, cleverly arranged and performed brilliantly by Patel. The movie has love, drama, comedy and surprise, taking us on a magical mystery tour of classic music that plays out much better than might be expected.
