The FireStorm Tour 2019 hit Count’s Vamp’d in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, August 3, 2019. The quirky intimate club hosted a barrage of modern rock heavyweights – Through Fire, Like A Storm, Wilson and Stitched Up Heart.
Through Fire is best known for their empowering hit “Stronger”. They just released their second album, “All Animal”. Vocalist Grant Joshua Kendrick is a powerhouse. He could not wait his turn to take the stage, so he sang with both Stitched Up Heart and Like A Storm. Guitarist Justin McCain is all energy, flying around the club stage with abandon. Bassist Kyle LeBlanc and drummer Grant Brooks are a tight unit. This band is poised for greatness.
Like A Storm is one of the most creative rock bands around, incorporating instruments such as the didgeridoo from their native New Zealand to their modern rock palette. Zach Wood keeps up the intensity behind the drum kit, allowing the Brooks brothers to share the spotlight and the microphone. Chris Brooks leads the charge on lead vocals, guitar and didgeridoo. Matt Brooks kicks ass on lead and backing vocals, guitar and percussion. Kent Brooks does it all, handling bass, keyboards and backing vocals. Their latest album, “Catacombs”, is one of the top 5 rock albums of 2018 with songs that tear deep into your heart and mind, which get better with every listen.
Wilson always brings the party to wherever they are. Their 2018 album “Tasty Nasty” is full of good-time, smile-inducing sing-alongs with a hard rock edge. Vocalist Chad Nicefield commands the stage with his charm and vocal prowess. Guitarist Jason Spencer leads the way musically. Bassist James Lascu is a ball of energy and style. Matt Puhy is a wildman behind the drums, with arms and hair flying in all directions at all times. A Wilson show is always a good time and something you must experience.
Stitched Up Heart is a band on the rise, mixing elements of gothic rock with pop sensibility and inspirations lyrics. Vocalist Mixi Demner delivers her powerful lyrics with an equally powerful voice. Drummer James Decker matches her power behind the kit. Bassist Randy Mathias and guitarist Merritt Goodwin are energetic riff monsters. The band has released 3 singles from their upcoming album, including “Lost” which features Sully Erna of Godsmack. Grant Kendrick filled in admirably at Count’s Vamp’d, showing the true love of rock and roll that is shared by all of the amazing human beings that are part of this tour.
