Badflower Electrifies Crowd at Welcome To Rockville

June 26, 2019 //  by Johnnie Crow

Badflower is a band that you need to know. If you are not already aware of them from their dark and gut-wrenching mega-hit song “Ghost”, or follow-up singles “Heroin” and “Promise Me”, you need to do some research. This is a band that bares their soul on record and on stage, and their musical message is transcendent.

Josh Katz, Joey Morrow, Alex Espiritu and Anthony Sonetti are a tight unit, and the passion that their music requires pours out of them while onstage. They gave an intense acoustic performance for an intimate crowd on the Zippo Encore Sessions stage, followed by an even more powerful show on the second main stage before a huge audience. Katz was clearly appreciative of the size of the early crowd and their intensity, commenting “I just realized we are really popular in Florida.”

They just released their critically acclaimed debut album OK, I’M SICK via Big Machine / John Varvatos Records that also garnered positions on multiple Billboard charts. OK, I’M SICK is modern, relevant and relatable. They don’t just take you to a dark place, they take you EVERYWHERE and don’t shy away from hard hitting topics like suicide, drug abuse, sexual abuse, or losing the ones you love while growing old.
