Mudd Fest 2019 is off to a rousing start. The tour features 5 of the biggest rock bands of the 2000’s – Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Trapt, Saving Abel, and Tantric. The tour rocked the House of Blues in San Diego, California on April 21, 2019.
Very few tours feature so much talent performing so many great songs that you already know by heart. Each band attacked their set with high energy and passion, matched by the enthusiastic crowd.
While not every band had all of their original members, they all sounded amazing. We are hopefully at a point where we have accepted that rock bands are living, changing organisms, and the music is what matters most. All of the artists are talented and know how to perform, which made for a great time.
Trapt were incredible, playing songs from throughout their career. They even brought a guest on stage, Anomaly, to perform their new single “Come Together”, which is a great tune.
Wes Scantlin and Puddle of Mudd have never sounded this good live. Scantlin has a long history of legal trouble and performance controversy, but nothing like that was on display here. He sang impressively, played flawlessly and genuinely seemed to be enjoying every second of the show.
