Wacken Metal Battle USA is part of an international competition where bands from across the country battle each other for one to be selected and join over 30 other countries for an international battle of the bands at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival Wacken Open Air, which has been taking place in Wacken, Germany for the last 29 years. The winner of Wacken Metal Battle USA will perform at the 2019 festival taking place from August 1st-3rd.
The first of 2 San Diego battles took place on March 30, 2019 at the Brick By Brick in San Diego, California. The 6 competing bands that all gave great performances were Beekeeper, Convent, Killing Tyranny, Manic, Night Shadow, and Vuture. The voting was tight, but the winner, who will move on to a competition in Los Angeles, was Night Shadow.
The 2nd San Diego battle will also take place at the Brick By Brick on Saturday, April 20, 2019.
